The 6s series actually runs iOS 13 betas quite beautifully tbh. If this is to be its last major iOS update, and I think it will be, it will be a good note to go out on.

I can't imagine using a phone so old as my daily driver, but it's perfectly usable if you are willing to make those huge sacrifices in terms of missing technology and outdated components. I just use mine for some testing.

That’s good to hear that the A9 processor performs well under the iOS 13 beta. I do think if this is the last year for support for the 6S, that it has been a phenomenal phone in terms of performance over the years, and even know if it is discontinued with iOS update after iOS 13, the A9 is still very much relevant in terms of being capable for an older iPhone model.

I don't have a 6S+, but I do have the smaller sized 6S. Got it for a good price a few months ago to replace my 5S with a dead battery. It's been running great ever since I got it. Must agree about the design, huge fan of it. Having the headphone jack is a nice bonus too. I still think the 6S is one of the best phones Apple has ever put out, and probably the best in recent times.

I have a 6S as my only phone. It works well. iOS12 made a huge difference in speed - much better than iOS11. I'm now on the latest iOS13 beta and it's no slower than iOS12, so that's my phone sorted for another year hopefully.

I got the battery replaced last December under Apple's special offer last year and it's as good as new.

The only issue, and it's my fault for buying the cheapest at the time, is that it only has 16GB. I don't use my phone as a music player, and I don't keep photos on it either once I'm done with a set, so it's survivable.

I also still have the first gen iPad mini (iOS9) which I use in emergencies (such as waiting for my phone to update to the latest beta), so that helps me think my 6S is fast :)

I could care less how long something gets updates for. I just like the phone everyone, it is very snappy, and it was a retail sealed brand new production 6S+. I am happy with it, I am not concerned about a iPhone 7 or 8 or anything newer any longer.. These devices cost a lot more money.

I studied eBay for weeks from a iPhone 7 to a iPhone XS. Galaxy S9+, and Galaxy S10+ 1TB “Ultimate performance edition”

I own a iPad Pro 11” 1TB unlocked, so I surely do not mind spending a little extra on a device.

At the end of the day, when I happen to be in Walmart for other reasons. I saw the device for $199.99 and bought it. I was ready to get a new phone right then and there, and end this long endeavor of eBay browsing, bidding, losing, shopping, searching endlessly nightmare lol.

I wanted a new clean device that just worked. I have yet to feel this 6S+ lag once. The phone just always runs smoothly, so I am 100% happy and left only impressed by this phone.
Writing this on my 6s+ and it sound like you got a bargain. I haven’t upgraded to newer models as I’m perfectly happy with this (and the £). It probably helps Apple gave me a new one when they couldn’t replace the battery on the old handset without breaking it, but that one was going fine. Battery life could be better - internet seems to just eat it (WiFi) - but what’s not to like.
We all enjoy the phones we have (hopefully).

I hope I do not mind the smaller screen of the iPhone 7. I really like this 6S+
Wish I could afford to keep both.
You will get used to the screen a lot easier than you will getting used to the much worse battery life of the 7. An apple battery case is a must if you use it all day long.

So I finally retired my iPhone SE, it was failing me on a daily basis due to the extremely rough condition and body damage the old SE had.

So I walked in Walmart and bought a brand new iPhone 6S+ 32GB unlocked for $199.

My manufacturers date is June 2019, this is a retail sealed iPhone, that was just recently built. It is not a refurbished model.

Anyways, I really love this 6S+ it feels super premium in hand. It is fast, and just looks beautiful!

Anybody else running a 6S+ in mid 2019? I see no reason why it wouldn’t last several more years for me.

I freaking love this new phone. iPhones last a very long time, and I never buy the newest available. I can see my self getting a iPhone 8, or a X in a year or two.

Hard to believe this phone came out on 09-25-2015!

I’m literally trying to buy an iPhone 6s Plus because it’s a valuable collectors item. Last phone with clickable Home Button and 3.5mm jack. And it’s still a capable iPhone.

You think so? If I bought a couple and let them sit sealed in the box. You think they’d actually go up in value?

So I really loved this 6S+ so much that I have decided to keep it, even though my new iPhone 7 128GB will be here Friday. I am not returning this 6S+ to Walmart, and I’m keeping them both dang it lol!

I’ve spent a total of $448 on both phones combined.

Could have had a 7+ for that price and been better off

Sarcasm? Nothing that was made in this kind of mass quantity will ever be a collectors item...

Maybe not up in value like real estate but it’s the last of something that had the best features. 20 years from now people will go insane just to feel that Home Button click and touch a piece of history. But those Lithium Ion cells will deteriorate and leak and ruin the internals better off taking the battery out. But if you have it factory sealed cellophane wrapped that’s good too.

They made MILLIONS of them. It's not a 70 Chevelle SS. It isn't even worth the space in your desk to keep one, unless you want it for sentiment attachment.

Or just use it lol. Mine takes up desk space at work. I don’t mind.

You are far better off with iPhone 7. iPhone 6S is in its last lag, it probably won’t get iOS 14. iPhone 7, however, it could easily last other 2 years or more.

I could get 250CAD (roughly 150 pounds) with 64GB storage, 128GB SD card, 6.1 inch 1080P display, dual camera on Android side. Which specification outshine iPhone 6S.

It runs good enough for day to day usage. Social media, watching video, playing games etc.

You aren’t looking hard enough.
If he wanted an Android he would have gotten one. Stop trolling with Android. Everyone knows the specs on Android mean nothing AND if it was faster it would be slower within 6 months. Android is notorious for slowing down dramatically and NEVER regaining its speed even after a clean wipe. It’s all over the internet so I’m sure he is happy with the 6S Plus. I’m sure you can find an Android forum on the internet of things. Have a go at it!

I have a brand new 6s plus 128 gb in plastic unused with accessories with ios 9.3.3 Turned it on once and activated it to see the ios version that's it. Will probably sell it on ebay one of these days. they fetch a lot when the os is 9 i really wonder why.

Ehh...20 years from now anyone that cared about the home button will probably be dead and everyone else will look at you as if you had two heads. I doubt anyone will 'go insane' over your 6s plus in 2039 but please report back. :)

Interesting to know but if you check ebay the phone already sells for over 1000 usd. As a matter of fact I purchased a brand new speak & spell in an auction for 800 usd. that used to sell for 39 usd. It still has the toysrus sticker on it. Game & watch brand new games are worth hundreds of dollars if not thousands.

Have you tried to purchase an iphone 1? What is it going for? check and you will see. but at some point it becomes a collectable not something to be used.

Dude, I'm messing around with you--if the smiley face didn't make that obvious to you then I don't know what to tell you. (although I still doubt anyone will 'go insane' over a home button :))

Between the 6s+ and the 7, I would have kept the 6s+. Like others have said, the 7 is such a marginal improvement from the 6s+ in terms of CPU. You’ll see better battery life on the 6s+. That’s how it always is with the Plus models. If you can get your hands on a 7+, that would be better but with the two options you have, I’d stick with the 6s+. Both phones do extremely well with the betas of iOS 13.

As far as “very old” tech goes, the A9 was far ahead of it’s time when the device came out. It’s still a fantastic device. If I were to be in the market right now for a low cost iPhone that still does very well, I would go for the 6s+. The regular sized iPhones don’t do well with battery life. I learned that with the 6 and 6s.

I use an iPhone SE for my small business and even that is still a fantastic device.
