he is used to be Pro PC then started doing review of Mac and then iPhone. do not think it has anything to do with he joined apple later on. It is looks apple like his work then hired him (not that he favored apple and then hired there).

his and his site reviews included SSDs, Display, Laptops and lot of different product category.
true true alright yall got me

so one cannot be honest and say what he/she think about a product? theverge has to always support Apple? then it is called advertisement (not review).

they still gave 9.0 out of 10.0 not sure what the fuss about theverge and the review.

Nilay review is the example of "the opposite is also true." One can also be dishonest and negatively bias. Just read his review on the watch.

There are no "reviews" here. They are just some stories and opinions. The real review would provide us only Anandtech. I'm waiting for it.
I much prefer reviews in layman's terms. I don't need a bunch of benchmarks and tests. Just use the phone like a normal human being uses the phone and tell me if its good, bad or so-so.

I haven't seen any wifi benchmarks yet or range tests over 5Ghz. That's one of my biggest issues with my 6 Plus - it sucks over 5Ghz AC connected to my AC Time Capsule. I have to leave it on 2.4Ghz for range/speed. My iPad Air 2 has no issues over 5Ghz AC due to it having a 2x2 antenna system (like the 6s/6s Plus). So, I'm hoping the 6s/6s Plus is much improved!

So with 3D Touch you can turn the iPhone keyboard into a trackpad and use it to more easily select text. And that clown Nilay Patel says 3D Touch is "cool" but "not useful".

All these reviews always note at the end that its not worth upgrading from the most previous model, which I would take as a given as most people would be on 24 month contracts or would tend to upgrade every two years. But for people like me who upgrade every 3 years and are still rocking an iPhone 5, this seems like a no brainer. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

We know the 7 will have a new design and there will always be upgrades to the screen and more. But I'm just curious to know what makes someone say not this year the next year they will upgrade when they don't even know what exactly will be coming.

I upgrade every year because I feel that every iPhone to date has had a significant upgrade and is something that I use frequently.

I agree with you I upgrade yearly plus we get a 50% discount from our jobs if we upgrade every s cycle. So it's not that bad secondly, we have the jump program. Buy it outright this year. Use the jump program next year. Buy it outright for the 7s. I like the improvements this year. I think it's a great upgrade. people have to realized that we are going to incremental updates every year. Like boost of ram, camera, etc we are past that point. My two top wishes for the iPhone 7 though would be better battery and a 256gb option since we travel a lot for our jobs and don't always have internet connection to use icloud.

Big one for me. Never can he damn cursor where I want. Hope more apps get onboard with Touch quickly.

In a number of the reviews I read they kept referring to 3D Touch as a "power user" feature. I'm not exactly sure how you define a "power user" but I'm sick of hearing that phrase thrown around. It just comes across as techies being condescending. Anything that makes tasks quicker and easier is something that will benefit everyone not just "power users".

I said MOST computers. What part did you not understand, dear? AND NO, IT IS NOT H.265. You should take your complaints to Apple, not me. Get a life.
You seem to have issues with accuracy or understanding.

I did not say the iPhone used H.265. I rejected your statement about "most computers" not supporting H.265. It's just not true. If you want to discuss 4K H.265 playback then we could debate the percentage of currently extant computers that could handle the workload. But 1080p @ H.265? H.265 support at some level? Well, how many computers can you VLC run on? I think the answer would be "most."

As I said.

And I'm not your "dear."

One of the selling points, for me is the new casing, that is supposed to be much stronger. The reason why, it is because I had in issue with my screen with a clicking pop sound, an I suspect is because the casing bended just slightly. I hadn't had this issue reoccur , since the screen was replaced, but since that incident occurred, I always fear it might reoccur, also that extra 1GB of RAM, might help, because my phone tends to become unresponsive too often.

I think those are probably the two biggest selling points right now for me. 12 Mp sounds nice, but I don't take a ton of photos. 3d touch, might be cognitive overload, I will probably forget to simply use it anyhow.

Performance beast ... maybe within the confines of the walled garden, fast as only against other iPhones. The rather distinctly old tech mechanical home button is like a governor on an industrial engine. It limits how fast you can go, no matter who you are, or how fast the cpu/et al is. You still have to wait for the button which can only travel up and down so fast.

For a truly fast experience just buy yourself one of the leading Android Flagship phones, with just one exception. Copy Cat Samsung chose an Apple like mechanical home button, therefore they're just as slow as iPhones.

Despite all of Apples bragging and hype, one can only surmise they cling to the old school button because at a glance its one way to quickly identify the smartphone someone else is holding as an Apple. The average Apple customer is clueless and buys the brand no matter how it's configured.

The 'speed' of the home button is negligible in the daily use of my iOS devices. Could you possibly think of something more ridicules to complain about?

This is why I'm upgrading. I'm actually doing the Apple upgrade plan because I don't like the hassle of selling, but if I can net $450 for my phone, that pays the lease for a year and I can get a hassle free upgrade. I use my phone more than anything. I have a 2008 MacBook Pro, an iPad 2 I'm going to sell even though it's not worth much just because I never use it now that the iPhone screen is big enough to view videos, etc. Paying like $1 a day to always have the latest device that you use hours a day really isn't that terrible.

Yep. And actually paying $1 per day isn't just not that terrible. It actually seems like a pretty good and affordable deal. I can't think of much else in the world that is the "best" you can get that also costs $1 per day.

The Verge review for iPhone is done by Mossberg, not Nilay. Just saying. I tried not to say anything negative in the forums as best as I could, otherwise ^%&*%$ Nilay!

The Verge review is done by both Nilay and Mossberg. There are two reviews.

I'm not so excited about this update, even though I believe 3d touch has some potential, but it depends what the developers will do with it and I will wait for some real world experience. All the other features like 4k, higher performance, better touch id, etc are not so important for me right now and I'm still very happy with my iphone 6 and will wait till next year when the iphone7 will be released...

This is what I'm saying about this guy, clearly things are useful and he doesn't acknowledge it. I mentioned earlier how someone should ask him about his view on pinch to zoom which is widely used on touch screens in different applications. I'd love to know what he say about that.

I'll end up getting it because I sell my phones every year and get about 50% of the value back. Which I use towards next years phone. Do I need an upgrade...no! But why not!!!

Also, I take alot of pictures with my photos. 2000 last year alone. The best camera is the one in your pocket so I'm always down for upgrading photo quality if possible.

And one giant reason not to - still too big!
There's a lot of intriguing stuff, especially the 3D touch, but I tried a 6 out at the store again tonight and the things are just too big. Normally I upgrade ever 2 years, but I'm going to skip this year and stick with my 5S.

Apple, you need to get it right next year and bring out a version with a 4" (better still a 3.5") screen. Not some compromised version either, but the latest model with all the latest features and maximum memory and battery, just with a smaller size than the phablets. I'll gladly pay top dollar if you do, but will almost certainly keep on with my old phone if you don't.

Any battery life could be better but can't see it being worse than last year's at all
The battery on my 6 plus is excellent. I don't worry about battery life anymore it's that good. So the fact that the 6S plus has the same battery life as the 6 plus makes me happy.

Does the watch make a difference battery life wise to the phone?

A little because blue tooth is constantly on but not enough to make it an issue. I can still get a day and a half with heavy usage and 2 days with medium usage.
Good to hear

With 6S plus I'm not expecting to worry about battery so hopefully not issues with my watch

What? I haven't mentioned anything about favouritism. People were saying that the review wasn't by him, I was just saying it was!!!
