Mine has little bit blue on right edge as well. But its not that noticeble unless i pay attention to it

Hey guys, I bought the iphone from a carrier, so I didn't pay full price. I also have the faint blue line and the samsung chip. I can't ask for a refund at the carrier because I used the phone line more than 30 minutes. Anyways, I was wondering, are apple geniuses OCD when it comes to asking for a replacement? Will they think I'm OCD and exagerating a minimal issue?

I have a meeting on friday and I'm a little afraid of what they are going to say.

I think my S+ has this slightly on the right edge of the phone, perhaps more toward the lower right corner. It's only barely noticeable on bright screens like if I'm texting. Definitely not worth returning what has otherwise been a completely perfect phone. It's a gold 128g with a TSMC processor and it runs cool, stable, and fast. I have no complaints. Apple hit it out of the park with this phone as far as I'm concerned.

My second replacement had this. On my phone it looked like a shadow running down the right side of the screen. The Apple genius could see it and they swapped it for a new white box unit.

Yes, it looks like a shadow running down the right hand side of the phone.

I've decided to live with as 9/10 phones I've seen in the Store have it.

I believe you have to pick your poison here in terms of finding a compromise with these phones. Its a mass produced product that will never be perfect.

I completely agree - no offense to anyone but I really don't believe what I read when people say they have a perfect display in their phone. They just don't see any defects.

Ignorance is bliss!

Like i said. Inconsistent backlight is a characteristic of lcd display. Good luck finding perfect display.

I went to the apple store, they replaced the phone and it still has the same problem....please help me just not focusing on this, I feel cheated. Like I dont even want to surf the web because I see it on white backgrounds and it pisses me off...someting is wrong with me

I went into an EE shop today (UK cellular provider store) and looked at their display iPhone 6S Pluses.

One of their phones didn't have this Blue edge issue. Couldn't believe it! Then I looked at the top of the screen and it had the most hideous yellow stain all across the top that was about 2cm deep into the screen.

You can't win.

Mhhh maybe you iPhone has a Samsung chip...and some other components from Samsung :D

Anyway mine is perfect, I've seen some "dark top" issue but never a "blue edges" issue! Change it if you can!

My entire screen is light blue. Totally uniform and no shading but....blooming annoying. I thought that I hated yellow screens but blue is even worse IMO.

Its strange but after just 10 days, my screen has shifted to a light blue tint also. It wasn't like this at the beginning. Coupled with the fact that I also have these even bluer dark edges on the left, right and bottom of my 10 day old phone and now 1 dead pixel means I've had enough. I'm not living with this.

I've managed to reserve a new Phone at the local Apple Store which I'm going to purchase tonight. Hopefully, this phone will be much better. Either way, I'll be returning my current phone or this new one tomorrow.

Keep us posted on how the new one is. Depending on how your new one looks I might try and do the same. I have a few more days for my 14 days as I already returned my launch day unit and am on the fence of trying my luck again. I figure if I find a store that has one I will reserve it and if not I will live with it.

Are you going to exchange? Also what capacity just out of curiosity

post a pic if you can, curious :)

I keep checking stock (there is none) with a view to exchanging but I'm not 100% certain that I will. My phone is pretty perfect other than this light blue tint on all my whites.

Apple's quality control is awful. And it has been for a long time. I have not gotten a satisfactory product on my first attempt out of the many devices I have bought, and lately even after exchanges I still wind up with some issue.

Purchased an iPhone 5S and the first one had a dead pixel, exchanged for a second and it had "pinching" along the entire top edge of the screen, and my third and current one came out of the box with two dings on the chamfered edge and a slightly dimmed screen on the left edge and cool whites to the left and warmer whites to the right.

Purchased an Apple Watch Sport and the first one had surface abrasions while the second had a loose power button.

Upgraded to a 6S from T-Mobile, received it today and it had the issue that is common with the 6S+, the dark corner on the top left of the screen. Also the screen was much brighter on the bottom than the top. Tired of playing the exchange lottery. Returning the 6S and sticking with my 5S which in and of itself has its own issues.

Even genius bar replacements?

I'm not prepared to accept a white box refurb when my issue was there out of the box. Apple are aware that I want a replacement and it's logged on my file that I have an extension to the 14 day returns period pending new stock. It isn't my fault they have no stock...

Regarding the refurbs, I'm just a little precious when I pay full retail for a SIM-free phone. £699 cash is a lot and for that I want a brand new replacement seeing how I alerted them to my blue screen well within my 14 day returns period. If I had got this phone on a contract with zero up-front and a small monthly payment then I wouldn't be quite so precious about it.

Having said that, I am trying my best to adjust to this blue screen. I have no other hardware issues other than that and I would hate to get into a multiple returns scenario with other phones...

So I have my new iPhone - checked it in the Store and first impressions were it was much better. Having had some time to play around with it in my dimly lit living room and compare it to my 1st phone here are my findings:

  • No Dark Corners (yay!)
  • A warmer tint than my previous phone which has quite a blue tint (this is a good thing for me)
  • Has the bottom left blemish very faintly but only if you look for it (this doesn't bother me at all).
  • A pretty good uniformly lit screen.
  • Very slight yellow to blue colour shift, left to right on the screen.
  • No blue edges.
This is my 1st replacement and the 13th iPhone 6S Plus I've seen in the past 10 days. I think this is about as good as one can get so I'm a happy girl.

Back goes my 12 day old 1st phone to the Apple Store tomorrow.

My old, old iPhone 4 has a cool display, it isn't warm in the slightest.

Note how white, bright and normal the screen appears compared to my 6S+ which is set at the same brightness and looks blue...

It's blue? Compared to your 4 looks warm to my eyes. I'll take a pic of mine soon but I have no other iPhone for reference but my 3GS but it's not an IPS or high res so not worth it.

And I understand the Genius Bar game is a scary one.

I had my retail and first replacement yellow blotch in upper left. I wouldn't have if I didn't get it on a 2 year contract and subsidized.

When I get the 7 next year and pay out of pocket, there will be no Genius Bar game.

I think it's the iPhone 4 camera lending a brown tint to the low light proceedings (look at the background compared to the other photo). Both photos were taken in the same spot on my duvet two minutes apart, but the i4 was snapped with my 6S+ and it in turn was snapped by my i4. Not a good comparison at all but my mother borrowed my point and shoot to go on holiday with.

Here's possibly a better shot of an empty browser. It looks blue as heck in real life.
