How do we even know lirum is accurate or safe?? They require a connection to give you the model i ran it n airplane mode just to test and it gives you nothing

My 6s is a TSMC but I didn't care prior to this whole "chipgate" thing and I still don't really care

In general, the 6s is an incredibly powerful phone and the A9 benchmarks high regardless of which chip. The benchmarks are so similar between the two, that people are really overblowing it. The battery results could be affected by many different things that the benchmarks did not take into account.

I get about 7-8 hours of battery usage with everything turned on, and about 1-2 hours with battery saver mode - which is fantastic usage for my needs. Turning off bluetooth, lte, even 3g extends it even more.

Measuring battery life is like measure fuel economy for cars. Good for general guidelines in comparing phones, not so good for individual phones. There's too many variations of setups possible. IMHO.

This is why the internet sucks - one person makes a wild claim based off of circumstantial evidence and then we have #chipgate.

Doing a battery test from two different users will prove nothing. There are an insane number of variables that would affect battery - cell signal, wifi signal, network types, ambient temperature, screen brightness settings, and most importantly - the actual tasks being run on the devices.

It is funny how two weeks ago people who found out they had TSMC were flipping out to go return because of samsung's 14nm process, and now we are back to the opposite from another random rumor.

This is why I'm waiting for somewhere like anand to run detailed testing before drawing any conclusions.

That's why I'm torn on whether to exchange or not. I have a Sammy 6S and I feel like it's battery has been poor since I got it but I also just got an Apple Watch .

What has me stumped is several users with the tsmc are still saying their battery life "sucks" in their opinion. It makes me think they real world isn't much difference

In typical real world usage I'm sure the difference probably is minor compared to something like geekbench stress test, that will be a worst case for CPU load without using GPU, like say a game would, which will no doubt have a different level of effect. ANd right now, we don't know how thermal throttling differs or doesn't between them either, which could have a massive effect.

If you live close enough to a store is it possible for you to just pick up another phone and test it for a few days? That way you don't have to return/repurchase and return/repurchase again if your experience is worse. Keep both, see which one works best for you and give back the one that doesn't.

Everyone's mileage may vary, and I don't have an Apple Watch but I often have my phone connected via Bluetooth to a number of devices. Whether it's my car, or Bluetooth headphones, its battery life so far has surprised me in a good way.

I was honestly expecting battery life to be worse since I noticed the shrinkage of the battery over the last generation, but it seems to have actually improved. Coming from a phone that I had to charge at least twice a day, I can definitely tell when my battery isn't up to par. Using iPhones in the bast, the absolute worst battery life I ever experienced was in the iPhone 5s. I could kill that phone in less than 3 hours and that to me was just appalling so it went back.

As I said, if you aren't happy with your purchase send it back, if it isn't up to your standards, send it back. It's your money in the end and you choose what to do with it. No need to stress.
