Im in your boat too, I've been using the 6 standard since launch, I like the size but the battery isn't the greatest. My mom uses the 6 plus and i know she loves it but it is bulky for my liking. On the other hand i'd probably be getting the same space grey color since the rose gold isn't for me. So it will be as if i never swapped phones out. It will be the same phone. Just dont know what i want. If i were to get the plus i'd get the space grey as well. I better make up my mind quick

I just feel like, with the 6S+, it will be a lot more difficult to do 3D touch if you need to use the device one-handed. I also wonder how well the OIS will do for video on the plus model vs the regular since last generation OIS was only used for video

What kind of battery life do you tend to get?

I echo that question. Obviously with the changes the A9 and other efficiencies bring to the table the next generation battery life is not easy to predict. But the relative differences between the Plus vs. non Plus models should remain the same.

Some people indicate it's been fine and others indicate it has been poor. The nearest I can make out is that in general it's very similar to that of the 5s. Somewhat improved but still similar. The 5s did not serve my needs well at all regarding battery life.

I do wish Apple would build something with the dimensions of the 6s or smaller, but with enough thickness to accommodate better ppi resolution and better battery life and OIS. That to me and a few others in this forum would be the perfect device. Since it does not exist and may never exist, I'll move on from my angst to choose between the better of two less than ideal offerings. Less than ideal for me, of course. I acknowledge that a multitude of customers are tickled rose gold at the IPhone 6+ and IPhone 6S+ and consider them the most perfect iPhone implementation ever. My husband is among them.

Thanks to everyone who replied! I think I might try out the plus and if worse comes to worse I can try to exchange a smaller phone. Now I will have to pre order in order to get the model I want so I might not be able to exchange for the exact model I would want but thats okay.
The fact that I already used my phone two-handed really helped push me towards the bigger phone.

This is exactly what both my wife and I did last year - we both bought the 6 Plus through Apple. It took her 2 days to decide it was too big and it took me about 5 days. We ended up taking them into the local AT&T store and swapping down to a 6.

I love to use my phone while laying sideways in bed. The 6 Plus is too big, so this year I'm going with the 6S.

IMHO, the 5S is the perfect size. I can see the whole screen without moving your eyes up and down.

I've been debating this too and i honestly can't decide lol. We're almost 12 hours away from the pre-order and i can't see which one i want. I'd love the 6s with the battery and resolution of the 6s plus. But we aren't getting it. I may just go for the 6s

Sigh. I'm feeling the same frustration. I'm leaning toward the S Plus. Just because I'm familiar with this size and the quirks of carrying it. And I'm not sure the 6 is small enough to be as pocketable as I'd wish anyway. I am hoping to get out this evening and compare one last time. Assuming I do preorder. It all depends on how things go with AT&T. We got a text saying we qualify to upgrade but whether or not we can do that easily online remains to be seen.

I think ill end up going with 6s Plus, If I get the same 6s in same color ill feel like i never even upgraded. I know ill end up regretting it. So why not

Yeah no matter which one I pick I'm going to have complaints. I am GRUMPY Mom after all. I mean really, when your ideal choice could exist but doesn't, it means compromise and some level of dissatisfaction that one can't help but hope (in vain) that the next generation of IPhones will solve.

Yes lets hope you're right and iPhone 7 fixes all these issues. Oh well.

I have a dilemma too. The 6s plus has features I'd like to keep like a large battery + 1080p. But just might be a bit too big to put in my pockets. The worst thing is I'm upgrading from a Galaxy S4, Which has the 1080p already and you guessed it, A screen size that comes between the regular 6s & 6s+, The battery size of the Galaxy S4 is close to the 6s+. I can just about use my Galaxy S4 one handed if required.

Oh no, don't mention the Galaxy S4. I get so frustrated every time I see one because it's a great size for a larger screened phone.

I think we all are hoping IPhone 7 marks the end of oversized bezels. I do think Apple is hard at work making 7 something special.

My guess is that anyone used to a Samsung is going to value the battery and screen above the more convenient size of the 6s. The screen resolution on the 6 does feel like a step down or backward that's going to be hard for many people to resign themselves to. In use the Plus will give a lot of Samsung users a positive impression. I'm not sure the 6s will. If just one element were missing, it would be one thing. But the battery, screen, and camera are all stepped down from what people on a Plus or many Samsung models are used to.

Then we have to factor in how 3D-Touch is going to impact the experience with all of those "peeks".

Are you always Grumpy , Grumpymom? lol

I have been flip flopping with the idea of going smaller but I just don't think I will. When I run, my 6 plus is too big on my arm. When I'm sitting or in the car, it could be twice the size and no big deal. If I could have a processor that was modular and buy the display separate, I would buy several display sizes and just move my processor from one to the other to fit the current need. There are times I don't need a display at all because my watch does the work of the phone for messaging on the go, weather, etc. Since this is not the case, I am going to stick with the larger phone and continue to deal with the few times the larger size is an issue. I do have to say, the 6 plus is a fantastic phone and in many was superior to the 6. You have to commit to the size. I have large hands and no issues with one handed use mostly but still find myself using two hands most of the time. I have a few hours to decide but pretty sure its going to be 6S plus.

Lol, actually I'm pretty easygoing. But if you take off your dirty socks and stuff them under the sofa cushions as a certain child of mine is prone to do, or leave empty soda cans all over the house as a certain husband of mine is prone to do, you could see how I came up with my member name. Also there was that period of caffeine withdrawal when I gave up real coffee that we all would prefer to forget!

I was at the mall a few hours ago. I checked out the Samsung Note 5 and the S6 Edge. I focused mainly on the Edge at the AT&T store. When I viewed the screen on its own it was stunning. But when I put my 6Plus display next to it I noticed there was a definite Aqua tint to the S6Edge. It really became apparent when I viewed the display at a slight angle.

I also played around with the Android OS. I have to say that if I were ever to switch to Android on my carrier, who only seems to offer Samsung products on the high end opposite iPhone, I would study every bit of information I could on rooting the Samsung to strip it of all the crap AT&T sneaks on it. I'm not even especially technical but I would make myself technically proficient just to get that junk off of a very nice smart phone.

I dropped by the Apple Store. I took a good hard look and did pocket tests on the 6 and 6 Plus. At this point, for me, being so short, they both are bulky in my pockets. Once my case is on, they will feel similar in the pocket. So I am going for the 6S Plus.

The 6 IS a good size for one handed use. I could text on it easily with one hand and I am small. It is definitely the more comfortable of the two to hold. But that's not a huge factor for me.

Good luck with your decision making, forum friends! I hope all goes well with everyone's preorders. My husband is going to try his best but the site went down earlier than expected so we can't see if we can do our AT&T upgrade on Apple's site.

Lol you're funny. Yeah I decided to go with with 6SPlus too. Im ready to buy the phone out right from the apple store app. Lets see if i can get it. They say the phone app is the best way to order. Both the site and the phone app are down right now for the iPhone 6s. I do like the 6 due to the one hand factor and im just use to it. But I can't justify buying a $900 and have the exact same phone. If later can't stand the 6s plus then ill sell mine and get the 6s. Best of luck. 2 hours 45 min to go!!

I'm also on the fence about going to the Plus this year. I don't think the 3D Touch will be that different between 6s or 6s Plus. On both I think you'll be able to force touch on any corner icons, but for anywhere else on the screen, it looks like you need two hands regardless of phone size (I say this based on the videos on Apple's website)

Now the dilemma is to get silver instead of the usual space black...

I've always gotten black bezels on iPads and iPhones except for one white IPhone a few years ago, just to be different from my husband for a change. This time I'm getting the pink iPhone. I know it's supposed to be rose gold. But I just saw the Rose gold apple watch at the store today with my own two eyes and it's pink. Pink pink pink pink. I wanted to get a very different look so I will be well aware I did switch phones.

My husband is getting space grey again. I don't know how he can live with the sameness of it all for so many years. But I won't complain about it too much because after all, he's kept me around for almost 30 years. I'm not giving him any ideas about switching things up too much!

6s Plus. Fun-sized chick, but admittedly I do have "piano fingers". Previously, I sported the 5s before making the leap. Cypher regrets. The increased real estate and battery life are well worth the occasional stretch. And I no longer feel the need to carry a phone and a tablet.

Welcome to the forum! "Fun sized chick". I like that. I never really thought about it but I guess I have big hands for my size.

I know I'm going to get my phone and grumble about carrying it like I always do. But unless the redesign of the internals causes new unanticipated problems I'm now at peace with the choice of the plus over the regular size.
