I just upgraded from the 6 to the 6s as it was cheaper than the 7. What I did not know was that the 7 has a EarPod to lighting connector so I would not need to use the 3.5mm adaptor which would be good as I wanted a phone with the headphone port. So far I am impressed with the changes over the 6. So what else is different about the 7? The 6s sure was cheaper and I went with the 32GB model so a big jump over 16GB's.

The iPhone 7 has stereo speakers, Haptic home button, larger battery, iP67X water resistance and improved screen. Those are the major differences. There are a lot of minor internal tweaks as well.

I have the 7 and yes I love it. However my girlfriend purchased a 6s and loves it too. All the upgrades are great but none that would warrant you upgrading at this point. Unless your a photographer that is.

iPhone 7 have much strongest A10 processor.
But bigger improvement is maybe even iPhone 6 to iPhone 6s than 6s to 7.
You definitely should wait iPhone 7s. 6s is great phone, enjoy until even better version of 7 show up. Except better A10 Fusion chip I like because Apple get rid off heaphone jack and because it's waterproof. But with iPhone 7 will be same plus even more features.

well, if you had googled instead you would have had all the answers in less time than it took to make this thread.

its not waterproof.

Why you think it's not waterproof?
It's advertised as waterproof cell phone.
Many reviews say it's waterproof... But warranty not cover damage with water.
I think iPhone 7s will be better under water. Same as iPhone SE is better than iPhone 5s and they are same.
Complete waterproof cell phone is good feature but people could manipulate with that and if something else is broken they could say
"Water damage my phone, I want new one with more space and different color, because it's advertised as waterproof.
I never plan to jump in swimming pole with cell phone.
It's stupid but on heavy rain is 100% waterproof. I believe in that.

With Samsung S7 is similar, not work speakerphone, not work camera, touch screen and adevertised as waterpoof. I mean they cost a lot and it would be nice if they are really waterproof up to 5m, for sure. Apple have technology to do that because their phones are finer build than others.

With the 7 not really offering enough of an upgrade for me over the iPhone 6, I saved some cash and got the 6S. Really happy with the speed difference and force touch is becoming pretty useful. Keeping the headphone jack for a little longer was also a major draw for me as it's used daily.

I didn't like the way my carrier O2 slapped a £200 price hike on my contract if I'd gone with the iPhone 7. I think they were cashing in on Brexit and I'm no mug, especially when I'm using the 6S the same as I would be the 7. It was a no brainier to snub it.

It says water resistant not waterproof. Go to Apple's sale sites and read it for yourself

I don't think Apple uses the term waterproof anywhere. They know why.

I went from a 6 to a 7 (bought it outright) and I'm really regretting the purchase as I don't feel like it was as much of as improvement as I hoped. Oh well, my mum now has gone from a 4 to my old 6 and is very happy, so that's a win.

iPhone 7 is the device everyone should own at this point. The 6S was good in its day, but iPhone 7 is better in every conceivable way and a massive upgrade. I could never go back to using a 6S anymore, it's old and very far behind the best ever iPhone 7.

I couldn't disagree more. The 6S is not far behind the 7 at all. It may be a little slower and less laggy from what I've read, but the difference is not huge.

That's a bit over the top in my opinion. Massive upgrade? Not really. Nice product refinement, that's it.

iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are quite simply the best smartphones Apple has ever made. Words cannot do justice to how incredible these devices are. I cannot be more proud to have upgraded from a 6s.

If you don't want to upgrade fair enough. But nobody should downplay these latest and greatest iPhones from Apple.

Words cannot do justice? Really, that much of a wonder?
I am not downplaying them by a bit. I'm happy to listen to your in-depth thoughts why these are such a massive upgrade while I simply see them as evolution (same case, new chips, better camera, couple minor new items like buttons and new finishes).

Just as no one should (way) overplay it.

I've used the 7 and it's not vastly different to my 6S. It's fast and so is the 6S. The camera is apparently better but it's not obvious. It doesn't feel like a great release to me and I'm glad I saved my money.

It's a decent upgrade from the iPhone 6 line of phones, and certainly from ones prior to that. Seems like Apple is targeting those types of users more (on a 2+ year upgrade cycle, which is typical for many typical users) as well as newcomers or those returning to the iPhone.

Targeting users on a 2 year upgrade cycle? I had my iPhone 6 for 2 years and my contract ended when the 7 came out. I was left bitterly disappointed.

I jumped from a 5S to a 7 and love it. That being said, the Mrs. is on a 6S and we see nothing worthy of buying a new phone. She is planning on waiting for another rotation or two.
