Carrier iPhone 7/7+ AT&T Pre-Order Thread

Everyone is going backordered on *6737# and I'm just sitting here with...

I have tried all 3 options with the same response haha.

It might be progression in there system. They are considering it in the process of getting then when they have the stock they click a button causing backorder. Then maybe when it is scan and packaged it moves to shipping?

Not necessarily. I got the text and haven't seen any status change so far.
 
From years past it looked like it was first come first served based on what regional warehouse you located out of. That may explain why some people who order after you get it before you do. But I could be wrong...
 
Got the same text. Order shipped yesterday. Never went "backordered". Not sure why folks think going to "backordered" means they are getting shipped. Here is what that status means directly from ATT;

Back ordered
Items in your order are out of stock and will ship when they're available. We'll let you know when your items ship.

I understand a few folks might have moved from Backordered to shipped in a short time but that's probably just a coincidence.
 
I am in Atlanta and still preparing to ship or ordered in progress depending on where I check. Ordered on 9/9 11am for 7+ Matte 128GB.

It's not a coincidence. We noticed it the past couple of years with the preorders.

Damnit! I ordered JB 128+ at the same time as you, and I got nothing :(. At least some Jet Blacks are shipping now.

What was your estimated window?
 
Also why are folks concerned with order times anymore? At this point we know order times mean nothing. Do you really want to hear from another person who ordered after you getting their phone before you?

Got spam text this afternoon shortly went to back order as well via the *6737#. Site still sending pending shipment. Original order placed 9/9 at 3:19am eastern time - I7+ Matte Black 128 gb. and live in the northeast (Massachusetts).

This has actually been an accurate predictor for past years as well as this year that an order is about to ship. Something strange with how ATT handles the pre-orders. This is not the first pre-order where orders that went to backorder shipped shortly after. Doesn't make much sense but almost none of ATTs process does really.

very stranger. This is my first experience preordering an iphone. Usually I just wait until they become "walk in available". Very strange indeed.
