It was exactly the same for me yesterday. I received shipping notification at 6:30 last night & it's being delivered today. I hope you have the same luck today!
Same boat here. I don't think I've seen even one MB 7+ 256 ship. At least from what I can remember

Am I missing something? Why is everyone excited about getting "backordered?" Mine has said backordered when I text *6737# for my order status since the second I placed the order. Online though, it has always said preparing to ship...
Because 99% of those back orders have sent shipping notices same day.

Wow. If that's the case, then that's the case, but that makes no sense whatsoever. AT&T needs to update their system to reflect order statuses more accurately. lol Preparing to ship should mean that a shipment is imminent, not backordered. That's AT&T for you though, I guess...
I wish that were the case for me. Mine is still estimated for October 13-20.
The next flight from Dallas to Memphis is not until like 9 tonight. I suspect I won't get a shipping notice until later today. Darn thing made it to Dallas but couldn't catch the flight out last night. lol

I ordered I7 Plus Matte Black 128gb at 3:19am eastern with at 23-30th ship date. For days I have been glued to his forum. Finally yesterday at 2pm I got the "spam text" which to me was something to be kinda happy about. Then about half hour later I checked *6737# and now my order went to backorder. This to me was good news after hearing in this forum how backordered meant it would ship soon. Then about 830pm last night I got the email that my phone had shipped with a tracking number via FedEx. I kept checking the tracking as it went from DFW to Indiana to Connecticut. It was scheduled to be delivered today by 8pm. Surprisingly the phone was delivered to my house at 11am this morning. I didn't pre-sign either, it was just left at my door. I have someone at home who grabbed it for me. The moral of the story is in no time can your status change and before you know it your phone is at your doorway in a little over 12hrs. So technically ATT did deliver my phone earlier then they said, come next time I preorder I still might go the Apple way vs ATT. Hope this brings hope to you guys.

Where in the states are you? I'm beginning to think they ship by region. I ordered at 3:04 ET the same exact phone and still see "preparing for shipment" I know people near IN who got shipped the same phone I ordered at a later date.
i preordered one from the apple store thats coming tomorrow, also preordered from the att store that hasnt changed since day 1, also reserved and picked up one from the local apple store. neeeded two iphones, cancelled the att order and keeping the second from the apple store. iphone 7+ matte black 128gb for all of them.
I ordered at 2:58 am EST, a full 10 minutes before either Apple or VZW went live. I had to be among the very first to order (mb 256 +). People who ordered two days after me got the same shipping dates. Every other model has shipped except the mb and jb large capacity +'s. People who ordered a week after many of us are getting shipping notifications. These guys have no idea what they are doing. Random shipping, fake junk mail text, CS agents have no information at all about anything to do with shipping your order, nearly two weeks now without a single word from these dopes except their "buy more services" junk mail text. Really pushing my patience.
