Carrier iPhone 7/7+ AT&T Pre-Order Thread

Guys, I have a question: AT&T sent me my phone bill to my house this morning. Two phones are on my plan. An iPhone 7 and an iPhone 7 Plus that hasn't even arrived yet. I'm about to go to a retail store to see what's up but is it possible to just pay for one phone for the month? I mean, why would I pay the extra money for a phone that hasn't been shipped yet?

Yes, I would take it to them and say that you won't be paying for a phone that you don't have. No goods, no payment. I will be checking with AT&T to make sure that I will not be charged full price monthly for the phone while my trade is being processed. They should be able to reassess your bill and send you a new bill with just the one phone you have.
 
ordered today 10/17 from AT&T on the phone. 7+ MB 256GB...10/31-11/07 projected date...order status is preparing to ship.

Did you have a previous phone on AT&T Next that you are no longer paying for?

IOW, is the phone that the 7+ is intended to be used on completely paid off and not tied to a Next payment at all?

If the answer is no and you have the phone that you're going to be trading in to get the 7+ I don't see a problem with it if they stopped charging you for that phone and started charging you for the 7+.

The other thing to think about... Do you trade your phone in every 12 months? If so, then go ahead and make the payment. You're either going to be making it now or making the extra payment in a year when you go to upgrade.

If I remember correctly, you can just make an extra payment (by going to the store or calling customer service) to make an additional payment. I think it sets an incorrect precedent to be charged now because what happens if AT&T have some error with your delivery and its another month? Happened with my iPhone 6.

I opened a brand new AT&T account when I preordered the two phones so I don't have any prior history.
 
Hi all, just checking in. My 7+ MB 128gb ordered on 9/17 went into backorder sometime late night Thursday and shipped sometime late night Friday via FedEx overnight. It arrived today (but won't be able to get to it until Wednesday night--the waiting continues!) For those wondering, I didn't get any notice from AT&T regarding backorder or even that the order had shipped. Just the email about "updates to your AT&T account". No bank charge yet either.

It was interesting that the phone status changed to "shipped" so late at night. I checked the 866 number Friday night before I went to bed, was still backordered, and again upon waking up Saturday, and the status had changed with access to a tracking number. So it is possible activity occurs over the weekend and at odd hours, lol.

My order went from backorder to shipped lat night. Tracking became available on website order status. This was for our 32GB RG ordered on 9/24.

RG on 9/24 orders are getting fulfilled and not JB on 9/17, Reallyyy??Starting to regret not going with MB... I would have had it in my hand now...:(
 
Just an update...

128 7+ Silver

Ordered: 9/18 via web
Shipped: 10/16 via FedEx from Ft Worth

It's currently out for delivery today.

I did not get any notifications from AT&T about backorder or shipped. I just got the 'information about your plan' email that some others have gotten. Also, I was charged on the day it shipped.
 
I did my pre order for a MB 256GB 7+ on Friday 14(October), went into backorder yesterday and it has been shipped with tracking number today. Also, hi everyone. I find it very strange that people with pre orders from weeks ago still haven't received their iPhones yet.

Not a pre-order but ordered 9/25.

SG 128 7Plus - shipping dates 10/28-11/04

Still on processing order.
Co-worker ordered same day: all 7 Plus MB 128, SG 128, RG 128 and they were shipped and received a week ago.

Wow that's a really long wait, I hope you get yours soon, still can't believe mine has been shipped, really strange from att, they should prioritize existing orders.

Apparently our unicorns are arriving on the same planes :) I feel like that anyone that preordered their phone should be receiving them already. Especially since people placing orders today are getting them shipped faster then we have had to wait. :(

At line at the Apple Store because i managed to reserve my JB+256GB. Hopefully they let me use ATT Next
