At this point I'm starting to wonder if I should just cancel my order for the 128 GB Jet Black 7+ now, and either immediately place an order for the Matte Black, or try my luck with stores on Friday.

I just have a bad feeling that not only will it not show on release day, but it might not show for another few weeks after that (my delivery estimate is October 14th-21st.) Between that and the scratch reports (which really don't bother me but just compound my concerns), maybe it just makes sense to cut bait from this color altogether. And give AT&T time to restore my ability to upgrade before Friday.
 
Mine says backordered but still has a delivery of Friday. I wonder if this means there's still a chance? Also on the first page before you click to see the delivery information it still says preparing to ship but when you click to go to the second page that's when it shows backordered.

I'm sure we're fine. I don't think any on the T mobile thread have any details around their 128gb Black Pluses. There are 5-6 planes landing in Anchorage tonight so we will see more activity early morning into tomorrow afternoon. Again last year I got my iPhone 6S plus 64gb Space Gray tracking info Thursday afternoon before launch.

I'm still waiting for my iphone 7 plus 256gb matte black to ship... would really like for it to get here on friday. just wish I knew ballpark what my chances were...

Ordered 9/9 2:44AM Central time, 7+ Black (not sure which black....AT&T only had one black option for me to choose from), 256GB. Ship estimate was (and still is) September 23-30. I'm not expecting it here Friday, but if it is, I'll be thrilled. No shipping updates on Fed Ex.

Here's what I know:

My charge disappeared. I'm knowledgable about merchant processing. They put a hold on your account at the time of purchase for a set number of days (your bank or card issuer has different parameters so the number of days the hold is in place will be different based on how you paid). If the item does't ship prior to the expiration date on the hold, the hold will fall off. The card will be actually charged just prior to shipping. For some, that'll be this week. For others, October. Having your charge drop off doesn't mean your order was cancelled or that your order is shipping. It just means your bank set the hold to expire today. Look for the AT&T real charge. THAT means something.

I bet all the 7+'s will be getting notifications tonight or even early morning. I honestly thought the people who stayed up all night to pre-order the phone on 9/9 would be getting theirs first etc, but it ended up being people who ordered theirs like 2 days later who will be getting theirs first. I'm not mad just a bit surprised and disappointed.

The thread is getting confusing, so if anyone in Chicago plans to camp out in the city, hit me on private message here or on social media. My iphone 7 Plus Gold has shipped but I really wanted Matte black so I'm considering camping out.

I wish I was in Chicago or somewhere cool where this was an option. My nearest Apple store is almost 2 hours away and the ATT resellers here are a joke. I've always wanted to nerd out and camp for a tech release.

Anyway, sounds like I'm in the same boat as a lot of you. Got it at 3:24AM for the 7+ 128 Matte Black. Shipping window of 9/23-9/30. Nothing yet.

yea dude i wont lose hope till tommorow night. you should really get it if it has 9/16 delivery date

Yeah that same thing happened to me today, when I just so happened to check my online banking app and it was gone. But that makes sense that a bank would just clear the hold because they can only hold the charge for an x amount of days.

You had to choose the size first, and then the Jet Black would appear in the options if you chose 128 or 256. Since it defaults to 32, Jet Black wasn't in the initial lineup until you did this.

How!? I have the exact phone and config. As you but I ordered at 3:00:55 AM EST and I was given the 9/30-10/7 expected shipping dates.
