I'm in the same boat as some of you with the 7 Plus Rose Gold 128gb. Mine has had a "delivery by date" of 9/16 since the beginning, but now I'm a bit concerned as others have shipped and mine has not. Ordered at 3:03 ET on launch day, and I know people who ordered the same model later than that have already seen movement. We shall seee....

I'm in the same position as you. I ordered mine at 3:10. Except mine shows backordered now. Still hoping that I may get it Friday.
 
What do you guys think the issue is with the 7 pluses?
We don't know that there is actually an issue with Apple dispersing the iPhone 7 Plus device.

Keeping things in perspective, just because nobody has stated any details (except myself with 2 iPhone 7 Pluses, 256GB set for shipping 9/23-9/30) of their particular order doesn't necessarily mean there's an "issue" with these devices.

Definitely not. I placed an order for a iPhone 7 Plus 256GB and received confirmation at 12:23 AM Pacific. I tracked my order through the AT&T wireless order status page and see it ships between October 7 - 14. I also noticed my order time was changed to 1:52 PM Pacific. My credit card was charged over the weekend, but the shipping date remains the same. The status is processing. I honestly doubt I'll get a phone before October.

This happened the last two years with our company's AT&T premier portal. I've call AT&T and the reps stick by the new order time stating that's when the system received the order. What's frustrating is colleagues of mine ordered Friday mid-morning and their time stamps are real-time with the confirmation email. Prior years, I canceled and waited in line at an Apple Store. This year, I can't pass up the $419 price point given that I'm ordering another iPhone 7 Plus and two stainless steel Apple watches all at the same time.

Why do people care about the weight?
Because when you track with a reference of "1", you see all shipments coming to your town. I live in a small town and there aren't very many. Two of them are scheduled to be delivered Friday and they show a weight of 4 pounds. If I knew the weight, I could get a better idea of whether they may or may not be my phones.
