I don't think Apple has ever done an iPhone recall, so whether this is a hardware bug or a software bug, it'll be billed as a software bug = no recall.

I maintain that it's far wiser to wait a few months - 6 months before buying the latest iPhone. But then most of us are pretty pathetic when it comes to patience.

OP here. So after multiple software updates both my iPhone 7 and my girlfriends 7plus are still freezing. Probably only weekly, sometimes more.

The screen becomes unresponsive as does the home button. Sometimes leaving the phones for a few mins fixes it, sometimes a reset is required as you can't power off the phone without using the screen.

Other 7/7plus users still having issues?

No such issues in a month with mine; as usually I had the backup restored from my previous iPhone (6s Plus).

Mine has been doing this since I got it which was on launch day. It does it about 1/2 times per week. It's annoying but not enough for me to restore the phone.

It doesn't require a reboot. If I leave it alone for a few minutes it becomes responsive again.

Yeah, this and a number of other things have caused me to call it quits with the iPhone 7. My 6 Plus just works, so I'm keeping it.

Too much fiddling with the stupid iPhone 7, which is not different enough from previous versions--and worse in some important ways (to me)--to make it worth my time and money.

Sorry to hear this.
