More money is to be made with leases. It's cheaper to break a service contract than it is to break a lease agreement. Most most people will spend $500+ on total lease payments just to trade it in for an upgrade so they are just rolling in your dough for a device you won't get to keep in the end.

Yeah that why I will never lease a phone. Also don't know what's the difference for them, buying online or over the phone, you still getting the 24 month contract.:D

I believe at the end of the lease you can purchase the device outright for $191 but most people want to upgrade to the latest and greatest no matter how nice the current phone is. By the time they swap it's pretty much lost any newness and desirability it had and most people want to see what else they can get. It's just the way things seem to go in the current way of marketing products.

I lease my devices for 12 months and swap it out for the new one. I never lease a device with any intention of keeping it. It's just not worth it for me. If I wanted to keep it, I would just buy it outright and be done with it.

Wow, people are still waiting. I ordered a jb 7+ 128 on 9/15, but lucked out and found one in target. Judging from this thread, I was luckier than I thought.

I get an email notification about this thread this morning after not looking at it for over a month. I feel bad for you guys, and I'm not trying to gloat, but this preorder was probably the worst of any phone that has ever come out. I preordered through sprint day 2 of preorders, early in the morning, got a date for like 9/30. I cancelled and RESERVED one through apple and leased it through them that same day. Picked up the phone 5,6 days after launch. Good luck to everyone!

I bought mine using the 2 year contract,was shipped 18 days after I ordered,will be here Monday.Not bad i guess,actually I need it by Dec 19th.

Ordered my matte black 128gb 7+ on 11/6 at 3pm and still waiting on a shipped email or call from the sprint store. I'm dreading it may not ship til their latest projected date of 12/19.......this sucks

Wowzers
Here we are 4 days past the latest estimated shipping date (12/12) for my 09/09 preorder JB 128GB 7+

FINALLY has active tracking:

IMG_8625.jpg

09/09/16 in store preorder (JB 128GB 7+ and wife's RG 128GB 7+) #30884, changed by in-store manager for MB around 9/15, thought he was doing me a favor, getting me a device sooner...LOL

09/16 wife's RG (and son's 9.7 iPad Pro) arrived in-store
9/22 erroneous Matte Black arrived in-store
9/24 all devices arrived shipped to my home

9/29 initial contact to Mari @ executive services, and new order placed for correct Jet Black, but since it was new order, was pushed to back of line with 12/05 to 12/12 delivery window

10/05 After many emails and hours on phone to Mari and her team, was told:
1) Going to reset my upgrade eligibility back to 9/9
2) Wiped away 2 months (500 ish) billing
3) Allow me to keep our old two leased 6+'s(non returned device fees waived)
4) Allow me to open and use the MB 7+ until the JB arrives without any fees or penalties.

^^
And that's the cliff notes version (LOL) for anyone not familiar with my posts from end of September & early October here.

Actually still likely would have no tracking, had I not reached out Thursday to see where it was, as new order number (3rd now) was placed 12/15, as seen on order status screenie above...

All in all, we did OK
Just unbelievable it took at least seven employees, three separate orders and over three months.

[doublepost=1481996898][/doublepost]Ok sorry, I'm learning how to post on here. I got my matte black 7+ 128gb on 12/8, unfortunately since this is my 1st iPhone I'm not really impressed at all. Waiting on the Note 8 now.
