There have been people with other carriers who have received the same phone I ordered, and they ordered after me.
There are many variables to consider. The best way I can describe it is this:

Each Retailer, like Sprint, AT&T, Target, Best Buy, etc, have 2 purchase methods. Online and In Store.

Each retailer has 2 shipment inventories. Shipment A goes to their stores for store purchase and shipment B goes to their online order shipping warehouse where online orders for fulfilled. Now, I would assume with the carriers as they were offering online promos only like Sprint was, including pre-orders, most of their orders were received online. So their warehouse shipments have stayed under high demand which is what is causing delays in shipment. They have the largest amount of orders to fill. Meanwhile, the actual stores that get shipment B are experiencing not as heavy demand for in store purchases so they tend to have devices more readily available. Example, Sprint may be sold out online and backordered for say the 7 Plus in Jet Black 128GB, but there may be some of those available in store, people just aren't going there to look for them, resulting in ordering online to save money. And most people prefer to order from either Apple or their carrier, which is why it's been told that it's been a lot easier to walk into Best Buy or Target and actually find these impossible to find devices available right there. Lower demand. More devices available. Non of this is exact science. But there's more to it than someone got the same phone as me and they ordered after me. The retailer, the method they ordered, it all plays a factor.

Even if a target had the phone I wanted, sprint can't isssue a refund on preorders. First and last time I'll preorder. Might as well check stores here and there and I'd probably have my phone by now.

Well being that their estimated delivery date is 11/9-11/23 for orders placed on 10/2, they haven't broken their delivery promise yet for the current delivery date.
True, but I've seen others getting their orders early (ordered from the store like I did) and was hoping the same luck would happen with mine. Just excited for my new phone :).

Exactly. I have already told Sprint this will be the last time I preorder a device from them.

I got my device in one day. First I ordered the JB 7+ 128gb from Sprint and was given a ship date between 11-23/-12/19. That order was placed on October 18. I was like nah screw it I don't want to wait that long so I cancelled that order and placed a new one for the Gold color which had a ship date between 11/04-11/11. That was on October 26. On October 27 my door bell rang, it was Sprint Direct to You. They brought me the phone and said that they had just that one Gold 7+ 128GB left because it was misplaced in the stock room and since my family has been loyal with Sprint for 14 years, they prioritized us first and delivered the phone themselves. Was pretty awesome. I got lucky.

Is this seriously true? If they can cancel a preorder, I don't see why they can't issue a refund, They can't keep your money and offer no refund if you cancel an order. That's against the law. Just keep asking for upper management and make your way past the idiots base tier support. It's known they tell preorder customers they can't do this or that as far as refunds or cancelations in order to keep your money. But they in fact can cancel your preorder. I had mine done within 10 minutes and I had a new order placed for a different model within 2 hours.

Yeah. I would consider that a very are anomaly.

Yeah. I would consider that a very are anomaly.

I even messaged Sprint support and they called the store to try to have this resolved to which the store told the online rep that it could not be cancelled.

It's ridiculous that they cannot escalate this to someone higher in the organization, if what you say is true about cancelling. I do not want to go in and create a scene as it is not in my arsenal to do and I should not have to.

I see no reasoning why they can't cancel it in store when they can do it online. The store reps are idiots also. Here's the thing. Some people get told their orders can be canceled no problem. Others get told over and over that they can't. It all depends on who you talk to. Demand you speak to supervisors or customer relations. Base Tier Support aren't helpful. They have access to more than they will let you believe. Awhile back, When they had a sudden supply of 256GB 7+ in jet Black, Many of us canceled out 128GB preorders to reorder the 256GB models. I was one. After I made the request to cancel, within 15 minutes I had confirmation it was successful canceled via Rep and an E-Mail confirmation. They told me 2-4 hours for my upgrade to reset on my account but it was time sensitive for me. So I asked the Rep to reset my upgrade manually ( They have access to do this, they just won't admit it ). He said he couldn't that I had to wait for the system to reset it. I said no. I know it can be done and I wanted it reset right then and there manually. I demanded to speak to upper tier support or his supervisor to get this resolved. He told me to give him a few minutes to speak to his supervisor, he came back about 5 minutes later saying it had be manually reset and I was eligible immediately to replace my order with my upgrade. Sure enough, I logged on to my account and all was set and ready to go. Don't let the tail wag the dog.

My moms JB+ 128 GB shipped yesterday night (11/9), and is to be delivered 11/11. :D

You'll need to sign out of your iCloud BEFORE you factory reset it. If not, it will be activation locked to your iCloud account. Just head over to Settings and iCloud and scroll down and tap Sign out so your phones serial is successfully released from your iCloud account.

Because Sprint has them in stock available to ship same day if you order before 1PM EST

I'm with sprint and could not order over the phone, because they don't do 2 year over the phone,so I went online and wasn't available,oh well it's a present for my wife,so no rush.

For everyone still waiting or even thinking about ordering via Sprint, I would check your local Best Buy Stores or Best Buy Mobile Stores first.

I work at a Best Buy Mobile and we're constantly getting 7+ in. I had customers come in and order the JB 256GB 7+ and I have it within a week or so. But none has been as long as what sprints estimated ship dates are.

When I left today, some 7+ in stock at our store.
