All of you will be in for a shock when iOS 13 is released. Expect your battery life to be reduced by 2 hrs with a fresh battery (which you won’t get). And I wouldn’t be surprised if anything older than an iPhone 8 is slowed down badly so people are forced to upgrade.

iOS 13 will likely be the worst optimised iOS in history to force people to upgrade. Don’t ask for proof, those who are smart enough know this already. Those who aren’t smart enough won’t understand this until their older phones are rendered useless.

I could be wrong. But I doubt it after this quarter’s results.

I don’t know about you, but I have excellent battery life on my X and on the replacement X I received on 12/21/18. It all depends on how the consumer use their phone, the amount of time and how they probably charge. Just because you may have issues with iOS 12 or the battery life of it (if you upgraded your software) doesn’t mean the next person will have horrible life on iOS 13.

When you’re having a negative spotlight put on your company the least likely move is to make even more negative press. Apple is all about experience- and I strongly doubt your guess will become reality.

But we shall see when the first betas ever out.

Writing this from my near launch day 7+. Changed the battery out in November. Will hold on for another year or two. I’ve tested the XS/X-RAY and found the upgrades to be incremental.

If not on T-Mobile, the big difference is some speed, wireless, and cost. The main advantage of wireless for me is by my bed at night.

I didn't upgrade from the 7+ to the X for the wireless charging. But because the 7+ was bigger than I liked. If I had bought the 7 instead of the 7+, I probably would have skipped the X.

Why? They’ve already said it’s significantly more expensive, and frankly it’s exactly the same

They are to all intents and purposes

My point still stands. The 8 offers no noticeable upgrade over the 7. Either get the 7 or XR/XS. Literally no point in the 8
It might be described as very similar and the upgrades and differences might not matter that much to someone, but it's certainly not exactly the same, nor does it offer no noticeable upgrade.

I dont like X series, and have to buy new iPhone. Been thinking aboutio 8 plus but ip 7 plus is much cheaper... so, what do you think, will 7 plus be ok for at least 2 years?

I would definitely buy the 7+ over the X series, you won't be missing anything important for the next 2 years... unless you want your face scanned and wireless charging that might not ever come to fruition. I plan on keeping my 7+ until Apple releases another TouchID equipped phone and if they don't I'll move onto the next phone maker that doesn't run Android... could even be flip phone at this point.

Using an iPhone for a few years, I am quite disappointed with Apple's approach in regards to iOS built for children. Just my opinion, so a flip phone my came sooner than later.

If you don’t need the new LTE bands and other tech upgrades then 7+ is still great phone.

He needs to explore his options because the 8 has much better internals than the 7 and will last a lot longer.

I do plan to buy new iphone after 2 years so i need 7/7 plus to be ok till 2020:)

It will more than likely last longer for a variety of reasons, simply being newer being one of them. Lasting "a lot" longer, that's somewhat different and really would be unknown at this point.

Same. Got my 7+ on launch day 2016 after trading in my launch day 6+ to VZW for $650 credit. It's been working totally fine since. Bought the Max 2 months ago to try it out, found no performance difference and then returned it the day after. Will keep running my 7+ till it dies. I think phones have peaked now. 7+ is still a great phone to this day.

This is pretty pitiful. I hope no one took this post seriously. If anything, they will try to make the new iOS as good as ios12. 2gb of ram will struggle no matter what, so they don’t need to purposely sabotage the older phones.

I loved the iPhone 7 that much I swapped my Rose Gold of 25 months to a Jet black one, had the battery replaced last week and the phone is just perfect lasts ages!

I’m hopeful it will pedal along till next year so I can get a few things paid off lol

I'm walking in the same shoes Kingdf, also bought my 7+ on launch day after trading in my 6+ to ATT for the $650 credit.

The $300. I can get from Apple brings my cost to $449. for an XR so I'm considering the trade in option but w/ zero issues & good battery life I'm still undecided.

That said the longer I keep it the less I'll recoup on it dollar wise in a trade plus being in a town of 80K & having had an attempted theft on Craig's List involving an iPad not going the outright sale route again.

If I would buy Iphone 7 + brand new from a retailer, how would the battery hold (if the product stays long in stock, will it affect the battery)? And how can I make sure to get one with the headphone adapter (since September 2018, they do not come anymore with it)?

Most of the brand new iPhone 7 will probably have the older packaging. I’m pretty sure apple is not actively manufacturing iPhone 7 at this point. So you should get whatever the original packaging contained.

Not mine it was made in December 2018 & came out of the box with iOS 12.1.2 already installed, so Apple are still manufacturing them.

Apple store sells the lightning to 3.5 mm jack adapter on their website, for $9.00 dollars, even if it wasn’t included in the box.

Yeah, it would hold up for two years. I'd suggest keeping it in the iOS version it comes with. If you do so, I can assure you it would last for the two years you intend it to, without issues.
Plenty of comments on Macrumors about how well IOS 12 works on older iPhones, so that advice is not really true anymore.

What? Where do you live that wireless charging devices aren’t available for purchase? What about face scanning that you are concerned about in today’s public camera world? It’s the most convenient upgrade Apple has done, for me. Bundled up in winter, no problem, wet or dirty hands, no problem, law enforcement forcing me to look at my phone, I choose not to do stupid actions that put me in that situation. But if it happened again I choose not to do stupid actions and keep a record on my phone, but that’s me. Style points for bringing dead thread back to life ;)

Yes, it will be worth buying iPhone 7 even in 2019 because of the iOS ecosystem. You can still play all the popular mobile games such as PUBG Mobile and Fortnite on the iPhone 7.

I wouldn’t say iPhone 7 would be worth purchasing simply because the ecosystem, but the A10 fusion processor is still really powerful and responds very well with iOS 12. If I were in the market for an iPhone, I would simply Purchase the iPhone 7 simply because it’s not really that dated of a phone, and is comparable to the iPhone 8 in some respects.
