I just recently switched from ATT to Verizon and I find my Verizon Project (RED) iPhone 7 battery last a lot longer than my Jet Black iPhone 7. Where I live and work reception is not an issue - usually full bars the entire time. Where my ATT phone would be almost drained by the time I get home around 7p (off charger 7a), my Verizon iPhone 7 still has 40-50% left. Needless to say, I'm very happy.

Did you set up the red iPhone as new?

Okay .. for comparison I probably have a few minutes outside screen on usage on average per day so it doesn't impact my battery life (as you can see), the rest is indoors with around 30% screen brightness (I agree I also need the screen up high though in direct sunlight outdoors).
Maybe it's an iPhone 6s problem (Although I think my 5s is similar to what you describe with LTE) but my iphone 7 only drains significantly faster than wifi if the Cellular signal is weak (1 or 2 signal dots), .. if I have a least 3 or more signal dots it doesn't drain significantly faster than on wifi while browsing safari or whatsapp messaging etc which I'm quite happy about.
Cheers
I don't think it's a 6s problem (mine lasts more or less what I've read it lasts). Maybe your iPhone 7 is one of a kind. In this thread I am not seeing that high of a usage on the standard 7, so maybe your phone has a superb battery inside. My 5s drained faster and didn't last much on LTE (I noticed a large improvement when I upgraded to the 6s). Now, my 6s lasts decently on LTE (it lasts more or less what I need) but it isn't even close to your 12 hours of approximate usage (drop isn't linear and tends to drop faster on the last half, although the last 10% lasts quite a bit as far as I've seen). That would be plus-like battery life for a standard. Beyond impressive.

Perhaps the 7's LTE battery performance is also an improvement over the 6s like the 6s was to the 5s too? As I said as long as the cellular signal is strong I dont notice that much difference in battery life browsing on safari etc between wifi and LTE on my 7 but I did on my 5s.
I agree the last half of the battery tends to drop a little quicker than the first half though, let's say for example one day Of very heavy usage and I get 6 hours 30 mins usage by 50%, it may only do 4 hours 45 mins on the second 50% before it's drained giving a total of 11 hours 15 mins that day. Of course we know that the first 1% when it's fully charged is equal to around 6% battery anyway that's why it stays at 100% for around 40 mins usage before dropping to 99%.
I rarely drain my phone below 20% as it's not good for the battery long term if you do that all the time, and I rarely finish the day below 40% anyway so just stick it on charge over night.

Cheers

Did anyone upgrade from a 7 to a 7 Plus? Exactly how much longer does the battery last? 2 hours?

I don't understand the need for max brightness unless working outside in direct sunlight .. its way too bright indoors and makes the eyes sore after long periods looking at the screen. Maybe you guys need to eat more carrots ;)

When I'm outside I need max brightness. Reading flipboard when having coffee is a pleasure with max brightness. If I lower brightness I can't see anything why making eyes to work harder when I don't need to?

This is my newest result with 10.3.1 iP7
Skype, Viber, taking photos, editing photos. 60% wifi, 40% LTE, max brightness for about one and a half hour, after that 30-40% brightness for rest of the day.

Those are fairly good numbers for a 7. Perhaps not great compared to some who might be getting somewhat more, but no worse and perhaps even better to a slight degree than quite a few others.

iPhone 7 w/ Smart Battery Case. I don't know if this is a bug or new with 10.3.2, but it now shows the total time using the case. Used to just show charging (I think).

This is with a lot of Bluetooth streaming.

Facebook consumes a lot of battery. Delete it. Sync your phone to itunes to remove diagnostic files- this usually always helps. disable background app refresh entirely- its not needed honestly. disable some location services that you dont need, if you have them enabled.
I find the problem with Facebook mitigated in the recent months.

I deleted my iPhone 7 iCloud backup and then drained the battery until it died. The battery life, while still not stellar, is faring better than before.

iPhone's battery life is longest. As per the company statement, iPhone 7 battery will last two hours longer than iPhone 6s.

I have an iphone 7 plus and to be honest, main factor I bought it for was the battery life... it sucks! I should have got an iPhone 7 and a battery pack from apple!

Hi, first post here :) I have an iPhone 7 6 months life and my battery is suddenly draining like mad and despite the restore - Background App refresh OFF - all sort of tips founds out there it just start discharging faster without usage.. what I noticed though (and this prior to update to10.3.2) is that the Contacts ON from whatsapp was causing a lot of usage OR that turning it off made my battery stands again as It used to be.. but not anymore now.. the whatsapp is always at the Top of my Battery usage with background activity ranging from 31% to 40% with very few messages sent or received..even at night when on charge and not used the app has 20% background actrivity and again the App refresh is OFF.. any tips?

I have a 7 Plus and the battery life is amazing. I get around 10 hours of screen on time. I upgraded from a 7.

Try a restore. That's the best way to get the battery right.

Thanks I did it already...I will try to kill whatsapp tonight and see how the battery behave without as it is still the major battery usage without much using it..one thing though.. it nows get hot while playing music and it did not use to behave like that.. even charging it

IDK what I do different, but my iPhone 7 gets great battery life. I have 0 issues ever with my iPhone 7. As a matter of fact I'd say it's the best iPhone I've ever owned

Today I went to my Apple center as my phone past the ios 10.3.2 did start to getting hot just browsing and battery lasting like 4 hours with only 2 hours usage and without further do or test they replaced my device with a new one.
Apaprently they thought there was a micro short circuit that made the battery discharging fast and so making the motherboard hot..not entirely convinced as this happended past 10.3.X update..now the device has a 10.3.1 and ask for an update which I won't do at all..my device was a 5 months device and the battery was good..what to think I don't know..but sorted now..
