iPhone 7 battery is good enough tbh .. on moderate usage days I finish the day with 60/70% battery leftWhen the iPhone 8 comes out that's when we'll see a big battery life jump as OLED uses less power as well as 10 nm

Have to wait and see as rumors and prototypes change
I reckon if you turned off auto brightness and manually set it at around 25/30% you might gain an extra hours usage.Color me impressed with the iP7 battery life. Having used various Android devices for the past five years, I was always in the position of having to recharge during the day in order to get a full day (18 hours) of power on my phones. With my new iPhone 7 I am routinely getting 18hrs Standby and 6hrs of Usage with 25-30% left in the tank when I finally plug it in before going to sleep at night. Last night I did not plug it in, to see how long it would go with my typical usage, and I was at 28hrs 45min Standby and 7.5hrs Usage.
- most background refresh is off except for a few important apps
- raise to wake is on
- auto brightness is on
- mail fetch is every 15mins
- mix of LTE and Wifi
- few videos, some spotify streaming
- Facebook, news apps, weather, banking, email, maps, etc used
Hah I'm actually going the other way and when I leave it on about 65%, i get 18hours standby with 25-30% left in the tank. Love this.I reckon if you turned off auto brightness and manually set it at around 25/30% you might gain an extra hours usage.
It's a trade off though on what you prefer.

WhatsApp has quite high background activity, although I don't find it affects my battery life particularly.Does anyone know why even though I have turned background data usage off for WhatsApp why it has used 2.5 hours of background data in the past 24 hours?
It seems such a battery drain

Apps like WhatsApp that log a lot of background activity I tend to close with the app switcher if I think I'm not going to use it for a while .. I find this lowers background activity from it (well less seems to be logged under battery). Cheers
Deano, how did you achieve this result?
Mines intel too .. all European iPhone 7's areDeano, how did you achieve this result?
Could you post your settings?
I have iphone with intel modem. I'm wondering whether it has impact on my battery life.

Something to keep in mind is that signal strength, WiFi availability/quality/use, and staying mostly in one location vs. movement through different locations would generally play a fairly big role in all of it too.Mines intel too .. all European iPhone 7's are
Any particular settings you want me to check?
Background refresh is 'off' (with the speed of the iPhone 7 I notice absolutely no performance loss on apps with this off)
Location services is set to 'never' for all apps that Don't require it and the apps that do require it such as maps etc are set to 'while using'. Everything location wise is set to off under system settings except for find my phone and compass calibration.
Handoff is 'off'
Keychain is 'off'
Siri is 'off' (don't use it)
Raise to wake is 'off' (don't like it)
Auto Brightness is 'off' and it's set manually at around 30% brightness, which is more than enough in most lighting other than direct sunlight.
Notifications is only on for apps I want notifications from such as messaging apps for example etc.
I turn off lock screen notifications because I don't want anyone reading my private stuff.
Auto update of apps is off
Email is set to 'fetch' every hour not push.
Off the top of my head most other settings are pretty much the defaults, such as auto iCloud backup etc.
Half of my usage is with 1 or 2 bars of 4G at work moving around the site .. and the other half is 4 bars signal and wifi at home generallySomething to keep in mind is that signal strength, WiFi availability/quality/use, and staying mostly in one location vs. movement through different locations would generally play a fairly big role in all of it too.

I've heard of a problem (although quite rare) where a particular iCloud account can cause battery drain (usually standby drain) for some reason and when they log out of their account on their phone the battery drain stops. I've never had this issue with iCloud though personally.Ok, thanks for tips. I'm gonna test my iphone whether It's possible to achieve similar result to yours.
Btw. Keychain may cause battery draining?
What about apps? You keep them closed when you don't use them or keep them active in background?
You mentioned about iCloud services that they are on. Some people are bringing up a thread that icloud services may cause battery draining. I'm wondering what it could be
I'm not sure that disabling and not using LTE saves battery. Perhaps if the signal is often not a strong/good one, but otherwise it should be better as far as battery goes compared to using (slower) 3G.Has anyone tried messing around with the Enable 4G setting? There are 3 options. Off, Voice & Data and Data only. I get that having 4G off could save battery. But what about Data Only? Does this keep a 4G connection for data and a 3G connection for calls simultaneously? That could eat battery.
Agree .. the only way switching to 3G (by disabling 4G) should save battery is if the 4G LTE signal is only 1 or 2 bars strong and the 3G signal is 4 or 5 bars strong in the same area.I'm not sure that disabling and not using LTE saves battery. No .. if your 4G is data only and not VoLTE your phone switches to 3G temporarily while you receive/make a call. It doesn't cause any problems here for me, mine switches to 3G on calls and I have excellent battery life out of my 7. Also, how often do you make calls these daysOk cool. But wouldn't constantly switching to 3G every time I get a call drain the battery?
