I'm not a politically correct softy. I don't like "soft" talk. Bottom line what I say is true. Go play with Android for 2 yrs and the use IPhone. Night and day. Most men don't really care if I can't set up little widgets to see weather and other "customization." I take the quarter second to press weather app
I use both on daily bases... and for past 3yrs+ :), I like both just fine.

- Gestures - various swipes or taps, two fingers, three fingers, up/down/sideways can be programed to do whatever you want - you can make it perform a string of commands.

- Contextual tasking - this alone is worth going to Android - program your phone to do whatever you need based on contexts (application, time, date, location, event, gesture). Takes the meaning of "smart phone" to another level

- Setting default apps - lack of this in iOS is embarrassing - you drop $700 on a phone only to have Apple force/push their apps on you. Really? Now even that much freedom, huh?
All possible via jailbreak. In fact most of Androids advantages can be solved by various tweaks. If stock iOS ain't your thing you can have the best of both worlds.

a) I don't think so b) Jailbreak is a pain in the a** and most people don't do it because of that

There is quite a bit you can do on Android that you can't on iOS, way too much to explain here. Some people make use of it, while others don't. Just for the basics, how about arranging the icons on the homescreen the way you want without being forced to start at the top and have them fill up from top to bottom and left to right? What if I want my icons on the bottom instead? What if I want a widget with the time and temp on the main screen but nothing else? Then you can change the themes of the entire OS. Want a dark theme? Sure. Want a purple theme? Here you go. Android is all about customization.

For multi-tasking, my example is a bit of a geeky reason but here it is. I load up Google Maps to navigate while streaming music, but at the same time I have Sensorly running to map the coverage for my carrier, and have WigleWiFi also running to map wireless networks. I may load up SignalCheck pro as the front screen app so I can see what LTE band and signal strength I have. Meanwhile, Google Maps will pop up over the top of my screen giving me directions for my next turn.

I completely agree, if you need more storage than what the base model offers it's a hassle. For me, I like it because the base model was 32GB compared to 16GB on the iPhone, and throwing in an SD card let me have a buffer if I temporarily needed more space, like loading videos for a flight.

Yeah, and let me just also add some more: Google Photos the app can upload automatically in the background even if I'm not in the app. And not only that, but it can integrate with other chat apps where people send me photos within conversations and automatically upload all of those photos as well. Neither of these things can be done on iOS because each app is in its own little silo. And how about being able to open a Word document in Evernote, let's say, and edit it then save it back into the note. Doable on Android, not doable on iOS.

There is a LOT to really like about Android, which coming from me says a lot because I've always been a hardcore iOS advocate. But after giving Android a fair shot and really committing to using it, I've found that I don't even want to go back to iOS. The way everything interacts on Android and its customizability gets us much closer to the "computer in your pocket" concept than iOS.

I could see having fun with Android back in college, but at a certain age you just get tired of having to do the routine clean up and just want something that works great all the time.
This. When I was younger the more it could do the better it was to me, now that I'm older just let me have something stable and quick that isn't going to crash or blow up in my hand please.

Google Photos uploads in the background on iOS. I know this because it absolutely tanks my battery! It's worth it though because Google Photos is awesome and way better than Apple's implementation

I'm rarely on stock iOS. Not sure how I feel about the current semi-untethered 9.3.3 jailbreak. There are talks that semi-untethered jailbreaks are the norm now for future jailbreaks. Hope there is a fully untethered jailbreak for iOS 10 in the future. I'm a tweak minimalist... so I mainly do theme modding... which is easy to do on Android phones without rooting. However, I prefer theme modding on iOS more since I can set up stationary SBHTML widgets. I like like my widgets to stay in place while paging through all my app icons. Plus I get the the smoothness of iOS while enjoying my modded theme setups.

I like jailbreaking, but I usually end up on stock. Over the years I've needed it less and less. The tweak I miss the most is Facsy. Speeds up Safari scrolling to the perfect amount. I wish iOS let you control scroll speed on stock. Hmm...maybe I'll switch back to Android (I kid, I kid).

Sadly even in Android it's only half baked. Won't let me choose my default music app.

By the way, widgets come in full force with iOS 10. Finally, Apple put them in the right place...

This is how "widgets" currently look when there is nothing to display:

What Android device are you using that it won't let you choose a default music app?

Galaxy S7. But let me clarify: I'm not talking about opening a file.
I'm talking about starting a bluetooth stream and it seems to be choosing what ever app it wants.
Even tried apps like tasker to start the right app and play music. Didn't work with spotify (apparently worked in older android versions) and didn't work with Apple Music.
But Google Play works.. but then that's not really a choice anymore ;)

My old iPhone just chose the last Media App i used. Not ideal, but i got more consistant results.

How do you launch a stream?

I have my phone launch Pandora upon connecting to my car BT or headphones and Pandora launches the last channel I listened to. I don't have to interact with the phone at all. Pandora can be substituted for any music app installed on my phone.
