Erm. Not must be on the payroll.. ARE on the payroll.. anandtech works for Apple in some role, so you can imagine the validity of his reviews.
And no you didn't succinctly (nice word ) summarise my post, you just showed up your lack of knowledge of all things tech!!

Anand is no longer associated with AnAndtech. So while Anand DOES work for Apple officially, claiming his old website is somehow being influenced by Apple is a bit tinfoil hattery.

Wow, are you clueless. Anand Lal Shimpi has left Anandtech and now works for Apple. Anandtech was bought out by Purch (which also owns Toms Hardware and Laptop Mag). Anand no longer writes reviews or tests hardware for Anandtech.

And as I told you before (and you're conveniently ignoring), if there's a problem with the content at Anand, then why don't you point it out to us? Are there factual errors in their reviews? Are they publishing lies about devices they test? Are they cheating on benchmarks?

They only reason people hate Anandtech are A) they tell it like it is and B) that means giving Apple credit where it's due. And unfortunately their comments are now filled with Apple hating idiots who claim bias in favor of Apple because they just can't stand the fact Apple is killing it with their hardware.

You didn't even read your own source. They said the regular S7 and S7 Edge both passed the water test. Only the active failed.
You can keep track of all the Samsung models. You get a cookie.

Lol, brilliant, exactly where are they killing it with hardware, 720p 6s screen, in 2016? Pathetic, 5400 rpm drives lol, Apple watch struggles to last a full day, every avenue of their hardware is flawed as they continue to fleece their loyal customers by releasing the bare minimum acceptable .

I see someone is upset at the truth.

- World most advanced 64bit ARM processor, custom designed by Apple.
- Only processor fast enough to offer 1080P slow mo at 120 FPS (not even the S7 can do this).
- Only mobile device in the world with NVMe (PCI Express) controller for their storage, also custom designed by Apple.
- On device hardware encryption since 2009 (when Android makers are still using the inferior software based encryption).
- First company in the world to put BT LE into a phone (the iPhone 4S).
- First company with multipath TCP, multipeer connectivity and MAC address randomization.
- First company with a fingerprint sensor that actually worked (Atrix was a complete failure and first gen Samsung readers were terrible).

Shall I go on?

BTW, I'm STILL waiting for your analysis of any Anandtech article, showing all the areas where they lied, cheated or otherwise made mistakes in their review. How come you aren't able to do this, since you claim Anandtech is biased? This is only the THIRD time I've asked you to provide us with what will be, I'm sure, an overwhelming pile of evidence to support your case. SO where is it?

So basically guys are just posting what Apple did great to beat those who says Apple did bad before. Perfect. Don't we even think this is an informative debate? Or just random troll?
Edit: I only read two most recent post, not all of them before sending this comment.

3 words... 16gb Base storage!!!

Live in the real world, where folks are bothered about screen, camera and decent storage options without being robbed blind. Talk all the fancy SoC talk you want, folk don't care about that stuff. Hence declining sales. Pathetic!

You listed reasons for Apple's hardware as 'Pathetic' is not comparable, the Apple Watch not lasting a full day has nothing to do with hardware, and it's based on how much or little the Watch is used by the User. My Watch us at 78% on a 10 hour day with the heart rate monitor turned off. The Apple Watch was rated one of the most premium smart watches on the market by JD Power. Macrumors posted an article on this if you so choose to research it.

"Every avenue of their hardware is flawed" you stated. Please provide an itemized detailed list of how all their hardware is flawed, with reasons as to why. Have you personally used all of Apple's hardware? Apple is renounced in making some of the best hardware in the industry, granted they are not using the latest specifications, that does not make Apple flawed.

Based off reading your malicious posts on Apple, it seems you back hand every comment when a User posts something positive about Apple's product line. To me, it seems you have a personal vendetta against Apple. Say what you want, but Apple has a strong following for a reason.

2 questions sir.. 1, why do you seem to take every slight made against an anonymous conglomerate so personally? You know what, there isn't a number 2. They don't care about you in the slightest, why do you care so passionately about them? Oh, and this is a forum for debate if you didn't realise, arguments on both sides of the coin..if I wasn't here, 8t would be a darned sight duller.

April fools already passed.

Exactly. The tech media outlets love saying "could" and "might" for anything Apple is thinking of putting out and it's becoming a real chore. Like toddlers or Bart Simpson wanting attention. Apple needs to make new tactics. The company should put out a product or not, but not do this infantile "might" crap - which does nothing more than directly relate to vaporware, FUD, and so on. Any SMB playing this game would be laughed at, why should a big one be treated any differently? Or are ethics only for the small?

Besides, the same factory that makes iPhones makes everything else so maybe the "leaked" images are for a competitor's product. Either way it's a joke...

Why did you choose to ignore all the questions I asked you in my previous post? If this a debate as you stated, then please answer the questions without refute this time. Thank you Sir.

Declining sales are all about a consumer pool which has not grown. Last iterations were increasing territories and carriers, and this didn't. It also doesn't help having the same design but you know.

You've been owned by Eric and spit out this!!

The Iphone 6 the previous year came with all the same things you decry and kicked Samsung and everyone else's arse and grew 50%+. That's the baseline for this "decline", a thorough ass kicking the year before with a phone you claim is "pathetic".
That's something you bizarrely omitted; or maybe not so strangely since your argument is blinkered.

That the 16 GB is a much faster storage with a much faster controller seems to mean nothing to you.
That the OS also takes less space than Android (3.6G vs 7.2G)
Not even talking of the skins that are on Samsung phones which take even more space.
That the IOS Apps use App slicing (Apps use less space).

So, unlike on Android 16GB is actually very fast AND usable.
So, what's your point exactly. That's quantity trumps quality? Strange argument to make for someone living in the "real world" who doesn't care about specs...

I expect no real response from someone who comes to an Apple site to "gloat" (sic).

At least I have a cogent argument to make using actual facts.
What do you have? Nothing seemingly... Like every other time before : QED.

Amazing how excited we can get about a bigger battery considering it's still less than 2,000mAh while the S7 has 3,000mAh. Still, at the end of the day, we have to wait for results.
And how long ago was the last time people compared computer power on the back of CPU clock speeds?

The battery life decreased in the 6S/6S Plus generation because, coupled with efficiency savings, the lifespan still increased. My 6S Plus lasts all day long on a single charge, I only ever need to charge it when I'm asleep. What exactly is gained by >1 day lifespan anyway...?
[doublepost=1468851993][/doublepost]
Just give me fast charging and wireless charging too and I'll be thrilled lol.
Keep in mind however that this could just compensate for a more power hungry A10 chip too, so it may not necessarily mean better battery life.
There's no such thing as wireless charging. There are cordless charging mats which require extreme proximity to your phone - technically the device is not plugged in, but the mat is and the phone has to sit on it. That's like putting a rug on your car roof and telling people you've invented the flying carpet*.

*DISCLAIMER: Flying Carpet only works while placed on the roof of a car which is fuelled, roadworthy and driven by someone else. Flying Carpet Co. is not responsible for any deaths caused by negligence, falling off mid-flight, or enraged users who understand what a scam it is to use a descriptor which is technically true but which no one would ever apply to a product like this.

Powering a 750p screen, Apple should be packing 2500 mAh as bare minimum. But since they want thinness, they compromise the capacity. Luckily, the A10 should be made in 10nm and their SoC has always been quite efficient and well optimized.

I expect the regular 7 to be on par with the regular 6s while the SE and the Plus models should still be tops for iPhones. Nothing class leading but on par with the 10-11 hrs for video and web that many previous iPhones have achieved.

If you want something closer to class leading, get an Asus Zenfone Max or Gionee Marathon M5. Packing 5000 or 6000 mAh battery only needing to power 720p with an entry level SoC.

I think the next breakthrough innovation in smartphones should be a phone that doesn't require a battery.

The battery needs to die like the gasoline engine, magnetic stripe, and the landline.

I'm afraid we muggles are stuck with technology, in the absence of magic and wishful thinking...

Obviously, you've never owned an iPhone. As long as YouTube or a music app is in the background, it won't let me change the ringer, even if I'm not listening to anything or using the app.
Owning one and knowing how to use it are different things. ;)

Settings > Sounds gives you a volume slider that lets you set the volume even if you just came out of a YouTube video. Thereafter the rockers will also adjust ringer rather than speaker volume. If you did just come out of a video app - or have music playing - then the chance you want to suddenly adjust ringer volume is much lower than managing the speaker.

For those thinking we should ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack & Internal DAC. Dare I say you may not be thinking far enough? If we are going to worry about the headphone port then we should really look at getting rid of all sockets/ports right?
if we remove the Lightning port we could move to primarily wireless data & audio transfer, and charge with a portless / socketless connector. (similar in concept to the Apple Watch, and/or like those dot connectors on the iPad Pro for the keyboard) This should be even better than just removing the headphone port, right?

Larger battery plus the even more efficient A10 would improve battery life drastically I assume. Good.

Yep, and losing the 3,5mm jack means we won't waste the battery on listening to music! Yay! Let's also remove the camera so we have even better battery life. The only thing left to do after that is to remove internet connectivity and the screen and we've got a huge battery life. Oh, life is so good in the new Apple world. :p

Oh! Oh! But we may get stereo speakers. The only thing better would be 4 speakers in my iPhone so I could enjoy surround sound from those amazing speakers. *daydream*

Expect the 7 to have very good battery life on par with the 6s or even slightly better. But nothing class leading and it probably won't be on par with the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (Exynos) which has 13 hr for web and 20 hrs for video playback or the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact which had 14-15 hrs SOT. That packed a 2600 mAh to power a 720p / "4.6.

Obsession with thinness doesn't help the regular iPhone 7 break new ground. Oppo and Gionee were obsessed with thinness and both delivered p*ss poor battery life. I do expect the 7 Plus and 7 Pro to last longer but only on par with other phablets like the Huawei Mate 8 and Note 5.
