The camera with OIS and improved aperature make the 7 worth every penny of the upgrade.

The 7 / 7+ is where it's at RIGHT NOW ... over the gimmickery of the rumoured 7s / 8 / anniversary edition in 2017.

And coming from a 6, which I admit was a close call for an upgrade, the much faster TouchID gen 2 sensor, non-mechanical Home "button," improved weather sealing and 3D touch are also noticeable improvements.

Not really. Apple still lists Black and Jet Black 7 Plus as not available in store at every Apple store around me.
Last week I could have bought a black or jet black or any other color sim free at my local Apple store. This week, they are showing that it will be available at that store on December 21. Who wants to wait that long for a phone?

Online still shows 3 weeks average. Still too long to wait for a phone.

Wow. Didn't see his coming. /s

No, not really. This happens with every single iPhone release. But try and tell some people that. The key will be how many it sold at its peak compared to other releases. The Note 7 obviously gave it a boost, but the headphone jack likely cost them some too.

I don't think you understood the article. He's suggesting that YoY sales for the launch quarter will be lower than the previous year. In other words they will sell fewer iPhone 7's at launch than they sold iPhone 6's at launch last year. That would continue the recent downward sales trend YoY.

Cool is out, practical is in for me. When my current iPhone fails or otherwise does not meet my everyday needs, time to buy a new. Until then, my cool days will be less often.

And herein is the issue not just affecting Apple, but all smartphone manufacturers.

We are rapidly approaching the point where everyone who wants a smartphone and can afford one, has one.

I am waiting for the analysis of how wrong or right Kuo is. He may get closer in some cases than others, but to keep quoting his every breath gets old, when he actually says something that can actually be validated, let me know..

What? He's an analyst. Which means he's paid to predict the future. If you wait for the analysis of how right or wrong he is you should wait for Apple's quarterly earnings call to get the actual numbers. However the stock market rely on analyst's forecasts to decide on whether to hold, buy or sell their Apple stock.

11.14.2016 Apple Stock is down significantly on this news today.....iPhone 7 will turn out to be a failure.

Well, it may fall in line with what Apple was expecting internally. of course we will never know for sure since Apple decided not to publish iPhone sales numbers this year. Wonder why ...

"We think iPhone shipment forecasts will be revised down due to... shorter times for delivering online orders of 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus, which implies slowing demand."

There's this thing, he probably never has heard of, called production lines... especially with the really only out of stock plus model (JB), Apple easily could have gotten better at the manufacturing or, another more likely option than this poorly-executed-opinion-marked-as-prediction is that Apple produced more plus models than necessary to back stock them for the holidays.

Is the iPhone 7 the first iPhone that Apple did not release how many were sold?

Not surprising, I think the 6 plus peaked around this time 2 years ago, the last time I got a high demand phone from Apple.

Bring back the mechanic click home button and i will buy a 7. Until then, I'll keep my 6s or I will go SE.

I have a iPhone 6 and bought a 7.

Not much difference. It is a bit heavier, a bit thicker, lacks headphone jack and the home button feels strange. It doesn't have antenna bands on the back and it's a bit snappier.

Hard to justify the upgrade.

Maybe if I take some underwater photos in the summer or buy Airpods it will be worth it.

My interest has peaked as well and is down significantly from the time of the release. My iPhone 5s battery is unfortunately swollen. I will try to fix it myself as Apple asks for $300. If it goes well I will not buy another iPhone.

Well I'll believe it when the iPhone 7 Plus doesn't constantly show 'unavailable for pickup' at every Apple Store within a 200 mile radius.

Faster than any other tech stock? I think not. Amazon was $844 5 weeks ago, $718 today. GOOGL down $80 per share since 10/25. Apple down $13 over the same time period. Apple's weakness has a lot more to do with Trump's threat of Chinese trade tariffs and ban on production outsourcing than it has to do with iPhone sales. By the way, neither of these concerns will ever amount to anything. Trump cannot force Apple to move production back to USA and he cannot, without wrecking our economy, impose 45% tariffs on Chinese imports. Apple investors should instead be paying attention to Trump's willingness to back a tax rate that will allow Apple and other techs to repatriate the trillions in overseas cash.

Well said. Always good to see knowledgeable traders / investors on the forum. Ultimately fear is currently guiding the market as money also shifts, but Aapl's been doing relatively well and ER guidance is key.

iPhone 7 demand peaked and shipments expected to decline... Hey, Apple, here's a hint: give us the iPhone 7 SE in the 4" screen factor and watch those sales zip right back up! I've got the money and the time, give me what I want. :)

I had to buy a new phone to replace a 5s. My deliberation was between the 7 and the SE. I chose the SE. I just don't want a bigger phone. I have an iPad. The SE has all I want or need other then not being waterproof. And it should have great battery life which will be a relief.

Yeah, the last time the US tried a repatriation program, companies used the money mostly to pay dividends and buy back stock... while cutting jobs.

Interestingly, almost all of Apple's hundreds of billions are actually in NYC banks, put there for safekeeping by their overseas shill companies.

While the money is thus technically foreign and Apple themselves cannot spend it in the US, the banks can and do use it to fund US loans. So this "overseas" money is actually useful to Americans even now.

It only makes sense to buy an iPhone within a few weeks of release. I always believed in staggering the release dates; 4.7" at the beginning of the year and 5.5" in fall. But Apple prefers top heavy sales.

It only makes sense because Apple keeps the price of the iphones the same for the whole year. Why wouldn't you want to buy on day 1? Buying 6 months later doesn't save you money. Buying 10 months later is even worse, you pay full price and a new iPhone will be out in 2 months.

Last December, I bought a 6S and 6S+ because they were finally readily available that month. This year, I am not buying an iPhone so it doesn't matter that I bought the two iPhones in December.

I cancelled my order because it was taking so long and in that time I decided to vote with my wallet regarding the headphone jack. Not that I have a shred of hope that they'll ever bring it back. Will decide in the future if I'm staying with iOS.
Now, now ... Apple has just the right dongle for you!!!

I'm skipping the iPhone this year and will be buying the S8 when it comes out in the new year.
