Its the first week of August fellas. Sept is a few weeks away. The final ip7 is already being stamped out by the millions in China... building up stock for release day. The days of mockups and prototypes have long past.

Perhaps the cutout needs to be bigger because the waterproofing lowers the volume output of the earpiece? That could also explain why there are two speakers on the bottom. I know my Apple Watch doesn't have the highest volume output, so maybe more or larger speakers helps to cut through the waterproofing better?
More likely is the earpiece speaker being used as a second speaker like a few other recent phones.

I'm hoping at some point in the near future the home button is removed completely with TouchID being implementing into the screen. Then we can lose the chin and forehead of the iPhone or most of it :)

How about an iris scanner like the Galaxy Note 7? You just need an infrared flash and a high resolution camera to pull this off. Maybe one of the extra cutouts is for the IR flash. Apple can make a big deal out of this.

My guess is that cosmetically it will be slightly different than the 6, but under the hood and software enhancements will be almost major.

I'm genuinely interested but will probably hold out for the 8. My 5s is still good.

From the design point of view, if Apple does think of including dual sensors, wouldn't they be centred at least? (What with dual cameras, dual sensors, what's next? Dual SIM?)

You guys remember when Apple was actually good at not leaking things? Was it the 4 that was a complete surprise? Outside of the bar thing, if that's the phone I'm remembering. No one believed the bar phone would be what Apple actually released.

That's when Apple was a much, much smaller company. The stakes are incredibly high now that iPhone is one of the biggest businesses in the world. Apple is being scrutinized now on every front, from patents to supply chain to suppliers to rumors, and many get advance info through good old fashioned industrial espionage. And it's not just the competitors, but accessory manufacturers, the media and the myriad of companies that stand to gain from iphone leaks.

I always wondered why the camera on the back wasn't centered... Normally all holes are centered

Maybe the holes are for air and they'll call it the iPhone Air. What's better than having a refreshing breeze in your ear when on the phone... Only for $ 99 extra and you'll see this only on the iPhone Air ;)

Or...

Neither is fake. They could be just two different prototype designs.

One of these may be the production version or neither could.

Right. Or, they could be different models.

As you write, though, it could just be Apple hedging their bets on part/feature availability for production. Force Touch ID parts have low yield? Bring back the old home button for the 7SE and save the fancy one for the 7SE+. An so on.

This is the least pumped I've been about an iPhone launch ever. It will be the first iPhone I don't bother upgrading to. I'm not doom and gloom but seriously, more ram and a wider ear piece is supposed to get me excited.
No one cares.

Although the ip7 will be what it is, I can't understand some people's rabid desire to remove the physical home button.

I often grab for my phone in the dark and the only way I can FEEL which way is up is be feeling for the depression of the home button. If it didn't have one, that'd be a big fat fail in my book.

I'm not sure if your being sarcastic or not, but I'm looking forward to upgrading and what the iPhone 7 has in store. So that makes two of us.

I think you guys are in the minority this time. But hey, Samsung note 7 looks pretty awesome!

I'll wait till september but if there isn't some hidden feature like wireless charging to turn things around, share value will drop and there will be calls to dump Timmy

The Note 7 does look nice. But I remain faithful to the core with Apple. I hope their are a few features that have not leaked yet. I love surprises!

Conflicting rumors ...

Anyone remember before the 4s came out? We saw many "leaks" of the slanted back iPhone 5...it never happened, in fact the 5 was delayed so they just gave the single core A4 iPhone 4 a dual-core and called it A5 and 4s.

It's possible some of the leaks are from 2016 iPhone and some from 2017 prototypes, (and some are just fakes).
