Or...

Neither is fake. They could be just two different prototype designs.

One of these may be the production version or neither could.

Spot on, very possible.
Aren't people aware that brands build several different prototypes to test them? C'mon guys...

Although the ip7 will be what it is, I can't understand some people's rabid desire to remove the physical home button.

I often grab for my phone in the dark and the only way I can FEEL which way is up is be feeling for the depression of the home button. If it didn't have one, that'd be a big fat fail in my book.

But i love to get a screen protector without the horseshoe design, just an entire piece of glass covering the front.

But I guess it won' t be entirely flat for now and there will be a slight dimple or still a ring around the button, that you can feel.
So don' t worry.

That front camera opening definitely looks bigger than the iPhone 6s's. 8MP camera, perhaps? 1080p video recording finally, perhaps?

Maybe they're gonna do something like the HTC 10 and make it a loudspeaker/tweeter as well so that we have speakers on both sides of the display? PLEASE

The Note 7 does look nice. But I remain faithful to the core with Apple. I hope their are a few features that have not leaked yet. I love surprises!
Not even Galaxy Note 7 looks much better it's far more innovative and feature full phone than this iPhone ME, i am a loyal apple customer, but with the launch of Galaxy Note 7 my confidence is shaken

Let me know how you like the Note 7 when you purchase it.

What's the fuss on the two holes at the top? They're already there on the iPhone6...

Edit - that is, two sensors are already there on the iPhone6, they're just not that obvious

With the launch of the iPhone 7 fast approaching, images of device components are leaking out at a rapid pace. This morning, we saw what appeared to be a functional iPhone 7 model running Apple's SwitchBoard prototyping software, and now an image depicting what's said to be the front panel of the iPhone 7 has surfaced on Weibo.

The panel looks distinctly different than the front panel of the iPhone 6s, with a longer and wider earpiece that's closer in proximity to the camera cutout and two sensor cutouts towards the top of the device. Also included is a home button cutout at the bottom of the panel.

Curiously, the alleged front panel does not look like the front panel that was seen in the photos and video of the fully assembled and functional iPhone 7 that was leaked this morning, but it is in line with past rumors about the iPhone 7.

Back in June, Japanese site Mac Otakara said the iPhone 7 would feature a redesigned front panel with a longer earpiece cutout and dual proximity sensors. That rumor and the front panel image both conflict with the full device images, so either the front panel is fake or the full device images are fake.

Conflicting rumors have been surfacing about the iPhone 7 for months, making it difficult to suss out concrete details about the device. On top of that, many leaked dummy models said to be based on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus specifications have been floating around, and not all of them are the same.

As we get closer to the launch of the iPhone 7, we'll undoubtedly see additional parts that will allow us to get a clearer picture of what to expect, but right now, there are a few features that are up in the air.

While some details are still murky, there are rumors that have surfaced time and time again, allowing us to reliably predict some iPhone 7 changes. The device is expected to include a slightly redesigned body with relocated antenna bands, no headphone jack, camera changes (larger camera in the iPhone 7 and dual cameras in the iPhone 7 Plus), and an improved A10 processor.

[doublepost=1470375398][/doublepost]I think it's fake. I don't think Apple would go that far with the odd shaped ear cutout and what happened to the force touch home button?

Can't wait for True Tone and DCI-P3 Wide Color on my phone. The display on the 9.7 iPad Pro is so good.

I'm thinking we will see Tru-Tone on the iPhone 7. That being said, I feel most won't welcome until they can truly see its potential, which is only available on the 9.7 Pro. It will greatly improve viewing the iPad display. Hopefully the Key Note will have some strong Demo's to exhibit to the audience.

I guess the second hole is for true tone display.
A flash for the front camera is not necessary since they just implemented it using the display.

Best case scenario , both are fake and iphone 7 will be awesome, worst case it's a 6SS with lame gimmicks

If this points to a True Tone display for iPhones it's anything but a gimmick. Helps enormously in sunlight. I don't make enough use of it on my iPad Pro except for train journeys and very occasional outdoor use.

But on an iPhone it'll be most welcome. Great feature.

I have sources that confirm the sensor relocation and possibly the widening of the earpiece and a slight enlargement of the camera lens.

The earpiece widening is unclear however, as that is something not seen on the reassembled model.

The sensor rearrangement would not be visible.

Sensors are probably True Tone? 9.7in iPad Pro has them on the sides of the top bezel.
No - The sensors already exist on the iPhone 6/6S, they have just been rearranged.
TrueTone sensors may be Incorporated into the larger earpiece or another sensor cutout - I hope we do see it.

Looks more like a screen protector
It is - the second sensor wouldn't be so obvious if it was the display glass.

What happened to the touch sensitive, non mechanical home button?
It would still be a separate piece since it is a Force Touch home button. this is a 3rd party screen protector anyway, so they may not be aware of it.
