I bought a second hand iphone 4s for music to get round this,

where the headphone connecter is on the iphone 7 it is a pain ive dropped my phone once cos of it

Continuously using that port to charge and use headphones will prob damage it over time aswell!

I don't own a 7, still just a 6s+, however it wouldn't ever be an issue for me as I've been using bluetooth headphones for years now... AirPods work great for me as well, so whenever I do next upgrade, I'm not going to bemoan the loss of the connector - especially considering the phone comes with lightning headphones - and I've never been one to listen/charge simultaneously, so for me it wouldn't be an issue (even though it is for others)

Having said that though... if you want high-res audio, an iPhone isn't really the place to do it anyway, given its output limitations.

You can get Hi-Res Audio on the iphone, granted it's as good as others but you can get it, you need to buy headphones with a DAC though.

The only 2 issues I have is when I am somewhere and want to PLUG IN my phone to play some music and can't because I don't have my adapter with me and I am using my wired headphones and have to charge (which literally only happened a hand full of times since I got the phone). Other than that, my cars are bluetooth and my headphones are either lightening connector or bluetooth.

For the people 145 people who have had problems with Apple removing the headphone jack, are you likely to upgrade to the iPhone 8 if it also doesn't have a headphone jack?

I don't know. I'm mostly an Android user that became an iPhone user with the 7+. The lack of headphone jack is only a big deal when there's no Bluetooth. I don't know if I'll upgrade to the next iPhone or not, because I really don't see the next version being that much better (for my needs anyway) other than footprint.

I am a heavy cell phone user. Still old fashioned, but tend to prefer a phone call over a text message.

As a result, use a corded headset. I had lunch with some friends and one was a cancer doctor and we were talking about the old cell phones and cancer. He said to be careful with bluetooth as people leave it on their ear.

Thoughts? A crackpot or is this something to consider? As a result have only gone with the corded headsets, which frankly sound better anyways.

Have had an issue when I forget the dongle, so have a couple extra in case I forget one somewhere else.

When you’re low on battery and don’t want to use (or don’t have them with you) wireless headphones.. you plug in, put it on low battery mode and charge it up real quick.

A daily problem I face.

Hey guys,

I was curious how things turned out for those with the iPhone 7 regarding the loss of the headphone jack as per the poll questions.

Cheers

Didn’t affect me at all. Been using Bluetooth speakers for a kind time. Never was a fan of wires but back then there weren’t a lot of choices.
