I saw the loss of the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 as...

These are the "upgrades" over the past 2 releases that I consider downgrades:

1. Force/3D touch: Rarely use it, and when I do, I think "dumb." Has added weight and thickness to the phone. A solution in search of a problem. Sucks.
2. Loss of headphone jack: dumb/annoying/something else to think about.
3. "Improved" screen (on 7): yellow tint, no thanks. My 6 Plus was/is better.
4. Leather cases: slippery. They suck. The old ones were better.
5. Phone call quality: now sounds muffled. Used to be great on 6.
6. Apple Music on iOS 10. WTF? How can you ruin an app in so many ways at one time? Must be some kind of record. Features remain *broken.*

Jeez.

That many complaints?! Esp points 5 and 6? Sheesh.

The only issue I've had is finding my one pair of Lightning EarPods amongst the many hundreds of 3.5mm versions.

For the people 145 people who have had problems with Apple removing the headphone jack, are you likely to upgrade to the iPhone 8 if it also doesn't have a headphone jack?

It's not much of an "if". Unless it's an incredibly well kept secret, not of this year's iPhones have a headphone jack, so people either have to get used to it or give up on iPhones.

I'll be happy if apple provide AirPods with my X

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.

tethered headphones are like black and white TV---gone !!!!

Wired earbuds and headphones are still far more prevalent than wireless, and most smartphones still have a standard headphone jack. It will be some years yet before wired is dead and gone.

I would have picked this option if it existed:

a potential issue, but I have had no problems because I didn't get an iPhone 7

I was curious, not so much "concerned", about how it would work. But I have AirPods, haven't needed headphones or the port once.

Having said that though... if you want high-res audio, an iPhone isn't really the place to do it anyway, given its output limitations.

Upgrade to iPhone 8 at the purported price? NO!
What will be the price of iPhone 9? 1,300 USD ?
The missing jack is at this price irrelevant....

Removing the headphone jack was a dumb move.

I have moved fully to BT headphones and while once or twice I missed the headphone jack, I really haven’t had any problems whatsoever.

AirPods, Powerbeats 3, Beats Studio Wireless and Jaybirds 3 are the headphones I use and all wireless, no need for the jack.

Not true if you use your phone as a music player also and want Hi Def quality sound. BT is getting close, it's not there yet.
Or if like me you just can't be bothered to keep one more bit of clutter charged. With wired, as long as your phone has power, so do your headphones, way more convenient - I don't use wireless mice for the exact same reason, just one more minor inconvenience for really no benefit.

I couldn't care less about the headphone jack. Picked up BeatsX a few weeks ago and life has been good.
