I bought this a few weeks ago for the Subaru Outback Limited I bought, which is a few years old, but only had BT profiles for phone calls and not streaming audio for whatever reason. The MPOW works great! But I bought this model instead: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010HSRVVA/. That model is better for the car because it has a line-signal cleaner that cleans up feedback from having the audio plugged into the same system as the power source in the vehicle. I had an older adapter before and it was no fun with noise on the line. Second of all, it automatically turns on and off with the car (as long as you have a new-ish car that turns the USB ports or cigarette adapters on and off with the vehicle). Believe it or not, some adapters don't turn on with the car, but they'll turn off when the power is cut—UNLESS they have a built-in battery, which my old one did. So it would never turn on with the car, and always stay on and connected to my phone, even when I went inside, which was super annoying. The MPOW doesn't have a battery and just works. I haven't tested the BT calling much, but I don't talk on the phone much anymore, and I just use Hey Siri to activate Siri using the iPhone's mics.
So I had to install a third party 3.5mm adapter to my 06 honda accord. It now runs a permanent 3.5mm chord. I always plugged it into my phone. I do not have a 3.5mm port in my car. Will this work for me?

How can you listen to wired headphones and charge your phone at the same time? I like to have my iPhone plugged into a 3.5mm jack in my car and leave it charging. Will I be able to do that somehow via an adapter?

I also use the 3.5mm aux input in my car for music and the USB port for charging.

I ordered these from Amazon.

I don't know if this solution is going to work but I'll give it a try.

I find it shocking how many people say they never use wired audio while charging. It leads me to believe that these people don't take road trips. I'm doing both most of the time.

I understand that some might have newer head units in their cars that avoids the problem wirelessly. But still these people seem to be saying they don't do even this.

Most all BT adapters plug into the AUX port, which is a female stereo 3.5mm. So you need a double ended female adapter so the male from your car and the male from the BT adapter can make the connection. Something like this should work: https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-107230-Stereo-Adaptor-Plated/dp/B004C87WQ6

Be shocked as I have not used the jack in 3-4 years. Glad it and the moving home button is gone.

You take out your courage adapter no. 3 from your strapped on courage belt courage adapter purse and plug it into your phone's courage adapter hole. Then you attach the jack to the courage adapter jack and the courage lightning charger cable to the courage lightning adapter courage port.

Then go out in the world and show how you courageously listen to music without a jack on the phone!

But do you charge while using audio? I understand this is a non-issue for you because you're probably wireless. People are claiming they never do this. Wireless or otherwise.

I'm sorry but for those with cars not new enough to come equipped with bluetooth and rely on auxiliary cables and charging for road trips, this is a great thread for us. Solutions provided here are good for me.

There are many Bluetooth headphones with good battery life. Doesnt have to be the apple ones. Mine have about 40 hours or so, I don't have to charge mine very often, and when I do, they charge up very quickly.

The MPOW is the way to go. Works flawlessly! I also use Jaybird X2's waiting on the Beats X. Wireless is the way to go!

Just like what many have suggested, try a Bluetooth to aux adapter that works on any aux analog in.
Personally, when I bought my iPhone 5, even my old car back then had a USB jack that supports iPod controls. So I never have the need to use the analog jack while charging.

Thank you so much for this suggestion. I purchased it and just installed it, and wow. Works great. Even with an AUX OUT cable since the "noise cancelling" through put has two INPUTS. One for the MPOW and one for my AUX cable. I bought a 3 dollar adapter just in case and turns out I didn't need it to make that connection. This was a great investment, and a cheap alternative. THANK YOU. The features are great as well. Not simply just for music.

3.5 mm jacks are gone. We are moving on to the Star Trek era

I've noticed some issues with it since upgrading to iOS 10. Not sure if it's the device being incompatible with the new software, but probably just a bug on Apple's end relating to all BT devices? It will sometimes not reconnect and when I push the button on top, it pauses and plays the music coming out of my iPhone's speakers. When I go to the control center for music, there is no option to connect to the MPOW, but if I tap on it in BT settings it reconnects. Other times it will sometimes reconnect if I push on the top play/pause button a couple times in a row. But like 80-90% of the time it just connects. I don't remember having any issues with it in iOS 9, but I only had the thing for a couple weeks before the iOS 10 GM dropped.
