It really is incredibly slick. I do think the JB looks plastic (not in a bad way), but if you use your phone naked it is probably the better choice from a potential drop standpoint.
This is where I'm at. I prefer the Matte Black look/feel, but given they decided to stick with this inane slippery/rounded edges design, I have no choice but to wait for Jet Black.I greatly prefer the matte black appearance. I actually prefer the matte black feel, too, but I'm going from a 6 to a 7 Plus and worry about dropping the larger phone if I go with the matte. That's the *only* reason I ordered Jet Black, but I'm having doubts given the long wait time (late November for me).
It's like a freaking live trout.
Had to buy the ugliest case just until I get near an Apple Store for the leather case.
Beware.
If you're coming from S7 Edge, which has a plastic case and therefore significantly less slippery than aluminum, then yes, it's like a live trout by comparison. However, it's actually not any more slippery than the other matte aluminum finishes.
The Jet Black iPhone 7 is more grippy/tacky than the other colors though.
Curious to hear from those who got the Matte Black iPhone 7 as everyone is saying how nice the grip on the JB version is. I may take the plunge and get the plus this time and I would like to see if I can avoid getting a case for it as it may add too much bulk.
The phone feels like the previous phones lol if you're used to the 6/6s you'll have no issues with it.
Just received mine this morning and I cannot get over how gorgeous this black matte looks. Or I just miss having an actual black iPhone.
