Nope but the more converts I can create willing to voice their disdain for Apple's unnecessary reduction in customer flexibility & usability for the sake of marketing and minimalism design exercises, the better off we'll all be. :)

Still using floppy discs in your Mac, too, eh?

Come on, you can do better than that.

Answer: Nope. I’ve said it often: there were obvious improvements to be had migrating from floppy disks. Similarly for removing optical ports in the MacBook Air‘s-software was heading towards downloads, music was heading towards digital. Made perfect sense. Corded headphones and cords are still so very useful in mainstream, there’s not the similar obvious leap. Hell, even wireless charging will need a corded base. This war on wires and ports is going too far. Don’t bother responding if you can’t do any better than drag out the floppies line. Or vga or serial ports.

Throwing in my 0.25, someone at Youtube MADE a headphone jack for the new iPhone... if u dare.

I still use corded headphones and the loss of the jack prevented me upgrading to the iPhone 7 back in 2016, or was a major reason. I’ll be using the crappy adapter most likely when I next upgrade my 6S. I know very few people who use Bluetooth headphones still, most use corded on their iPhone 7’s so I think people will do what they want rather than what Apple think they should do.

They discuss how this crazy jack removal idea is nothing but conjecture, and it's super entertaining to look back at how sadly true they were.

My opinion is the 3.5 mm Jack being deleted is a relatively old topic at this point and we know Apple is not bringing it back, because they rarely ever delete a feature, then re-introduce it later on, I think you genuinely gripe in this dated thread and the other iPhone SE main page article you have been involved recently, which seemingly eases you about venting, because you realize this company won’t shift their values because you don’t agree with their stance on the transitional changes they have made and will Continue to make over the years. Which, by all means you’re more than welcome to elaborate on your thoughts, but evidently you believe you’re changing something, when in fact you’re not. However, there is always Android as An option for you.

Well, you hit the nail on the head with your 2nd word. This being a forum, probably 99% of discussions here are opinions. You may have an opinion on a %'age different than 99%. :)

But you have an opinion and so do I and so do the thousands of macrumors members and the millions of iOS users. I do strongly believe that my gripes make microscopic changes in both those who agree and disagree with me, when others who believe like I do chime in and who may even get inspired to provide Apple feedback like I do. And Apple has backtracked, notably to me as: adding ports to the MBA after its intro to undoing some of the unnecessary over-minimalism of iOS starting with iOS 7; there are signs in iOS11 that at least some there are "getting it" and undoing the harm done to intuitivity & efficiency via iOS 7 just for the sake of fashion and change for the sake of change.

Also I find it hopefully beneficial to share insights of *my* user preferences with those with strong opinions about how much the current Apple feature-set works for them and who aren't shy about saying others should feel the same way... Some say we should all just get with the times re: jack removal, but headphone jacks is just one controversial item within the bigger picture topic of: each time Jony/Apple removes something that at one time enabled a near-instant result (that could be performed via single press or click or swipe or insertion) with something software-based or wireless that can often take 5-15 seconds to actuate due to needing (and carrying or storing) dongles, or opening an app, or enacting a configuration/settings switch-out, or needing to buy more hardware that’s Apple-specific and which can’t be used universally (and seemingly just for the sake of having a thinner or "more sleek" product), that results in a lot of pain, to put it simply, to me as a user. And those instances are adding up with more removals (magsafe, ports, buttons, jacks, etc.).

Sure, for engineers in a pretty mature market, this makes their job more fun and challenging, and it gives the Marketing geniuses something to bite into, but when it comes back to the user (those who give engineering & Marketing a job), it's feeling like iOS/iPhones are getting farther and farther away from being intuitive and "it just works" as more functions/features are added to a device with an ever-decreasing set of user-interaction methods/buttons/ports. And with Apple's MO of rarely offering options, I think this is a dangerous path for them to keep removing/simplifying while adding function/features... Lots of gripes 8 years ago about Steve Jobs telling users they're holding their iPhone 4 incorrectly, but doesn't face unlock also now require you hold your phone a certain way to unlock? Limiting the configurations that a user can hold their phone to unlock... No more unlocking with touch ID when in your pocket or with your phone discretely out of direct sight... So I'll remember your post and check back one day when/if intuitive software returns and a phone option returns that doesn't require meditation and 3 swipes just to listen to music.
