The iPhone 7 was the first new iPhone I bought with my first job when I was 18… I feel so old now 😧

I still remember what my 3GS felt like in my hand. Like a phantom limb, a phantom phone.
Man I wish we still had the 3G network so I could rock a 3GS

iPhone 7 Plus was the peak aluminum body iPhone

iPhone 8 series was overshadowed by iPhone X since both were announced by the same day

iPhone 6 series may be the best selling iPhone but was also the worst in terms of build for iPhones released since 2014

Even though iPhone 5c is cheap to most people, I find it durable and tougher compared to its same size counterparts, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone SE 2016

The video presentation or behind the scenes of manufacturing the iPhone 5c shows that the body is reinforced by a stainless steel frame which makes it a bit heavier compared to its same size counterparts.

It won't likely happen but I'm still hoping to have a modern iPhone re-use the iPhone 5c body.

The bit about the iPhone 8 doesn't make much sense to me, apart from the storage, the rest of the iPhone 8 is the same, whether it is a (Red), 64GB, 128GB or 256GB. If the screen breaks on an 8, it is the screen that needs replacing and that is the same screen as a "vintage" 64GB or 256GB or a supported 128GB model...

I could understand saying that, "the 256GB motherboard is no longer supported, we will have to downgrade it to 128GB, if you want to repair it." But, "sorry, your iPhone 8 is the wrong model for a new screen, but the guy standing next to you with the same phone, with a different memory configuration can get his screen replaced," is disingenuous.

I’ve had every iPhone on launch day, except iPhone 7 Plus because I wanted Jet Black and it was an absolute bi*ch to get hold of one 😅😭 finally managed to get one about 2 months later.

Apple loves to show off its green side in those Mother Nature skits, but marking iPhones as “vintage” after just 5 years and making repairs nearly impossible after 7 tells a different story.

If Apple truly wants to reduce e-waste, the real solution isn’t just solar panels and recycled aluminum. It’s longer support, better repairability, and real access to parts.

Until then, “Mother Nature” might still raise an eyebrow under all that green branding, planned obsolescence still smells a lot like waste.

The 7 Plus was my first "plus sized" phone. At the time, I even 100% replaced my laptop and iPad with it (sold them) and used the 7 Plus with a Bluetooth keyboard as my only device. I really appreciated that iOS had landscape support at the time too, as I used that all the time with it. Unfortunately it was short lived, I upgraded to the iPhone X a year later and lost that landscape support despite the screen size being roughly the same. I used the X as my only device for a while still but ended up getting another device to go with it - I believe it was a Surface Book... I'll say it wasn’t my best purchase.

I've tested other iPhones since then as my only devices, most recently my 14 Pro with that same Microsoft Universal Mobile Keyboard I used with the 7 Plus. While it could still work for me if needed, I don’t really need that set up anymore because I’m happy with my 11" iPad taking that spot.

I finally put that Microsoft keyboard to rest and recycled it last month due to poor battery life.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 are technically outdated. They are so old that they are of no use, and repairing them will make no sense due to compatibility issues.

I often forget there was even an iPhone 8, and not just because I skipped it (along with the 7 and its terrible display).

The red-haired stepchild of the iPhone family that was largely passed over in anticipation for the incoming (just 8 weeks later) and utterly gorgeous X.

The iPad Air 2 had the best run of all iOS devices. Still using it daily. Still got a security update this year. 10+ years after the introduction.

I still have my iphone 7+ in my drawer. It still works as a backup phone if needed. I only got the iphone 13 because my provider gave it to me for free. I still use my ipad air 2 with no issues.
