iPhone 7 Plus Availability Improving Through Apple's Upgrade Program

Ordered gold model 256GB. Sept 16th since I who was told they weren't going to be any on launch day email States October 11th-17. I'm hoping that this changes

I was on-line at 3:00 a.m. on Friday, Sept 9 to pre-order my AT&T (unlocked, um-subsidized) 7Plus 256 in Jet Black and, despite a 10 minute late opening, I was able to pre-order but the delivery date was Oct. 3 to 10. Sunday my credit card company notified me that Apple had hit my account with the charges - and the Apple web site showed my order moved from "Processing" to "Preparing for Shipment." It sat in that state until this morning, when it moved to "Shipped" with a delivery date of Thursday, Sept. 22.

Yeah - Apple once again under promises and over delivers.

My upgrade experience was just fine. Glad more stock is freeing up. Somehow I ended up with two phones reserved at two different locations, so that should help someone out.

iOS 10 has so many bugs. It's disgusting. I buy Apple so I don't have these kinds of problems. They're still better than alternatives but what a mess.

According to this article the apple store near me has a phone in stock... I am on t-mobile and want to use Jump on Demand, can I do that in an apple store? What are the steps? Do I need to be Primary account holder or can I just be authorized to make changes. If any one knows how this works in the store with t-mobile I would greatly appreciate it.

No, you cannot upgrade using JoD in an Apple store. That can only be done over the phone or at a physical T-Mo location unfortunately. I'm in the same boat and they are still showing as November for the pluses.

I ordered a 7+ just after midnight via phone (expletive 4 hour terrible experience) and Friday my ip7 arrived. Not the plus, and they ran my credit, even though I am a 2 year subscriber (Tmob) & they never asked. Since then, I have been on the phone/chat/store so many times I am now numb. I believe, as of today, my phone was re-re-re-re-re-ordered and now the date for a 7+ (signed paperwork) is for mid-October, but their website says late end of November. This year is a mess no matter who is to blame.

No, you cannot upgrade using JoD in an Apple store. That can only be done over the phone or at a physical T-Mo location unfortunately. I'm in the same boat and they are still showing as November for the pluses.

Oddly, and not surprisingly, I was told (via chat/phone) that you could jump on demand at an Apple Store after the official availability date (last friday usa)

My experience with 10 (Developer's version since Beta 1) has been 99% outstanding! In all the years that I've been downloading the Beta versions, iOS 10 has been the most stable and bug free (for the most parts - just a few minor bugs) version I've encountered.

Who cares about Jet Black anyway. Even according to Apple, is so scratchy, it needs tucking away behind a cover. Ridiculous!

Myself and MANY others want and have ordered the jet black. Personal preference. Don't dismiss just because of your own.

The upgrade program certainly wasn't smooth sailing. But Apple have been doing their best to try and rectify the problems. I'm sure next year will be much better for those in the upgrade program.

If next year brings the major redesign some are expecting (like me), I'd say all bets are off that the IUP will see smooth sailing for those wanting to upgrade at launch. The demand for those phones would dwarf the demand for this years tick-tock-tock update and look at the trouble they had this year.

Is it worse than iOS9? I usually wait a while to upgrade the OS for this reason. Apple's quality control has gone down hill in recent years for software, hardware, and services.

In the past 2 years, I have talked to Apple Support, and visited the Apple Store for problems more times than the previous 20 years that I have used Apple products.

I hope Apple turns it around.

But, you are right, it still beats the alternatives, but not by much anymore.

New data suggests the 5.5-inch model has outsold the 4.7-inch version for the first time ever, likely fueled by exclusive features such as dual cameras, longer battery life, and 3GB of RAM.

I can't help but see it as the Plus selling better because the 4.7 doesn't have much worth to upgrade to.

My mother in law has one of these cases to show off her rose gold 6s from last year, the case still looks great. Probably a good option for folks with the shiny black wanting to show it off.

I get what you both are saying; however, you do know that they make clear cases. I have a 256gb 7 plus in jet black coming that I will put in a clear spigen case (soft rubber)

That has not been the case for me. I have been using that link for reservations and haven't seen anything other than a 32GB Gold 7+ since Saturday. Upstate NY.

Yes Apple is improving its 7plus availability for its Upgrade program by screwing over its service providers. Don't believe it just check your own ATT preorder thread. Apple is diverting phones that should have gone to these customers for their own customers. Do some investigating of this mess and then do some real reporting.

This doesn't have anything to do with the post, but I am curious since iOS 10 has been the most rock-solid release for me in a long time. What kind of bugs are you having?

People forget that you can walk into almost any Target store in the united states and pickup up a iPhone 7 plus. They forget that target is one of the largest Apple mini store locations and cover the major carriers. I know yesterday stores where getting in iPhone 7 pluses in the stores because i had my girlfriend call my local Targets and they had them for sale. Plus they have the same carrier trade-in programs and store trade-in's for all kinds of electronics even video game consoles and video games.
