I don't think I'll ever sign up for Apple's upgrade program after seeing how Apple treated its upgrade members.

Woot! Awesome! That's one less person in front of me in line! I picked up my upgrade Sunday. OMG. I can't believe I had to wait TWO WHOLE DAYS to get the phone.

lol dang I can feel the soreness from over here. Those two days sounded painful. Stinks you didn't get it on day 1.

Is anyone aware of any lightning earbuds (NOT headphones or in-ear earbuds) with better sound quality than the standard Apple ones?

According to this article the apple store near me has a phone in stock... I am on t-mobile and want to use Jump on Demand, can I do that in an apple store? What are the steps? Do I need to be Primary account holder or can I just be authorized to make changes. If any one knows how this works in the store with t-mobile I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you.

You can upgrade your phone using your current wireless provider at any Apple store. You might want to consider the iPhone Upgrade Program, however, as that is what the article is about. Rather than pay T-Mobile monthly to lease the phone, you apply for a 0% APR CitizensBank Loan thru Apple, and pay monthly (My current payment is $41.58/mo for a 128GB iPhone 7 Plus). That payment includes the cost of the phone spread over 24 months, as well as AppleCare+ included into the monthly payments over the life of the loan. Having AppleCare+ is a huge benefit, and can save you a ton of money should you cause any damage to the phone. The program gives you the option to upgrade after just 12 months (6 months, technically, as long as you pay off 6 more months before upgrading), and comes with an unlocked device which would be beneficial should you decide to switch your carrier. Approval for this program requires decent credit and a valid U.S. Credit Card. That's right, a credit card. Not a debit card. So you'll need to weigh your options interest wise as to whether this is worth it for you. If you feel comfortable opening a 0% interest card for a promo period, do so, but beware that this will count as 2 hard inquiries on your credit score. As for availability, I didn't pre-order but waited until 12:02 A.M. to go to Apple's reservation site and luckily the iPhone 7 Plus model and carrier I wanted was available for pick-up the next day. For now, you will need to log on literally right after midnight each day to hopefully discover they have an iPhone 7 Plus available for pickup. You need to be diligent about this if you want to lock down the exact phone you want for your carrier, but I went through the process without major difficulty. These reservations, I should add, are only available to those who are interested in the Apple iPhone Upgrade Program. Using a carrier-based payment program will more than likely push your waiting period out significantly. In all, weigh the pros and cons of both and decide whether you want to cut the leasing payment cord from your wireless carrier altogether. I have attached below Apple's website to check reservation status, as well as a third-party website that is pretty accurate in determining iPhone stock availability at local Apple Stores. :)

You mean apologetically and desperately trying to resolve the issue?

The upgrade program certainly wasn't smooth sailing. But Apple have been doing their best to try and rectify the problems. I'm sure next year will be much better for those in the upgrade program.

Not true, they haven't been apologetic at all and if you call to figure out what is going on no one has a f. idea. I received the mail below last Friday, still waiting to hearing from them.

"Dear ....,

We’re excited to let you know that you’ll be able to upgrade to iPhone 7 soon.

Your new iPhone 7 Plus 128GB Jet Black with AT&T will be available for pick up at Apple SoHo by Monday, September 26.

We will email you as soon as your iPhone is ready for pick up.

Sincerely,

Apple Support"

Almost no avaliability today in London. Need to keep looking I guess.
I bought an iPhone 7 Plus 128GB in black at the Apple Store in Covent Garden yesterday. It was briefly available. They get fresh stock daily between 9 and noon. If you refresh the upgrade programme page continuously, you'll start to see stock appear online at some point. They seem to be getting supplies of everything sans the Jet Black at Covent Garden.

Just a reminder (most here probably know it) that you can change the payment method after you sign up. You login to your account at Citizens One and can update payment to another credit card, debit, or
even ACH direct charge to checking, etc.

Great for those people. Meanwhile I placed my order the second the website finally loaded and I'm still waiting for my order to ship, another 19 days. Never had this happen before.

But it's not Monday, September 26th yet. That's the latest it'll be available by. If it arrives before then, they'll email you.

That's what the email says... what's the issue?

Slowly the 7+'s are showing up in my local Apple Stores, but of course Gold and Rose gold only, I have YET to see a Black or Silver 7+, and to take it one step further, I have yet to see a 256gb NON GOLD plus ANYWHERE in the country for the third straight day...

So I saw on iStockNow that the exact color/size 7+ was in stock at a local store, so I hurried up and went over to the reservation page and kept getting an error "We're sorry, but this service is currently unavailable." So I called to see what was going on and this is where it gets confusing. iStockNow.com shows what is in stock in the store, but it does not take into consideration what is already reserved, so if something is reserved, you can't reserve it. Which is what I just ran into, its showing available on both iStockNow and the Apple reservation page, but I can't get a reservation to go through because its already reserved.

Got damn, and I thought I secured my 7+ 256gb.

Apple botched the first round of upgrades. I called Apple on the 12th and after a long hour and forty-four minutes on the phone they took my information down and promised a call back within 48 hours (by the 14th). I called back on the 17th and they again took my information within 10 minutes. On the 18th I received an email stating my Jet Black 128 would be ready for pick-up on 'Tuesday, September 25th'. Though September 25th isn't a Tuesday until 2018, I was glad to hear back none the less. The next morning a new email moving my pick-up to Monday the 26th....2016.

I'm confident that the process will be much smoother next year as a result of this year going so poorly. What differentiates good from great is how you handle things when they go poorly. While they dropped the ball, they recovered quickly (IMO). One thing I would have appreciated/preferred is once they realized there was a problem that they proactively emailed IUP participants acknowledging the problem and providing the guidance that we had to seek out ourselves. Because they chose not to control the message and stayed 'quiet' that void was filled with frustration and misinformation from fans and haters alike.
