I'm not chalking it up to some physics cop out. The bottom speaker doesn't make it vibrate, but the top does?

Apple is about customer experience and the iPhone is a game machine. Listening to a video or music isn't going to affect you since you generally don't have your finger tips resting on the screen. With gaming (good ones anyway) your hands are constantly on the screen.

Plus, what's the long term effect of this???

I dunno why u complain. They give you stereo speakers with umph. Otherwise you complaint speakers too thinly sound.

Put on headphones.

The problem is definitely in the upper speaker. If Apple gave us a quality upper speaker, we wouldn't have this vibration issue. We would also have true stereo sound. As someone previously mentioned, applying pressure to the upper speaker completely eliminates the screen vibration. I wouldn't be surprised if the next iPhone does not have this screen vibration issue. Oh well, I'm still happy with my 7+.

Final update. I found a solution I can live with. I went into accessibility mode under settings and moved the audio balance towards the bottom speaker (towards the L side). Now the screen vibration is gone and I am happy again.

I think I got a good iPhone 7+: happy with battery life, screen color, no creaks, no weird sounds coming out of the back, does not run hot, etc.
[doublepost=1475213146][/doublepost]Yes this totally works, you actually move the slider towards the R not the L, and the vibration is normal. I also freaked out at first think that the phone was damaged but know it is ok if you want the vibration to stop you simply adjust that cursor in accessabilty but you will no longer have the sound coming from both ends.

I have a 7 Plus also, and have owned multiple stereo speaker Android devices. It just seems to be par for the course with having multiple loud speakers packed into a small device. I wouldn't return your phone over it.

Plus, who's to say it's excessive vibration anyway?

This will now throw off the balance when listening through a pair of headphones.

A better quality speaker would just make it even worse. Sound is vibration waves and nothing will ever stop that. You can stop the screen from vibration by touching it but you are just spreading the vibration out further so it is not as noticeable.

The speakers are much louder than my 6 and I say it is a welcome change.

I made an account just to say thanks to this guy, moving the bar all the way to the left, solves the issue 95% as you still feel a slight vibration from bottom, but im pretty sure on my 6 i felt the same thing when volume is on full. But overall this is the BEST SOLUTION i have found so far. Thanks yoyoyoyyoyoooyyoooooooo! :D

Yikes. Why would I want to defeat the stereo effect I have now because of a little screen vibration? Then again, I don't mind the screen vibrating. The panels in my car vibrate I bit when I play the radio and music.

If you like to listen to music / podcasts on speakerphone with your phone in your shirt pocket, the vibrating top speak will drive you nuts. It will make you feel like you're receiving non stop text messages. Also if you're playing games in portrait mode and don't want the screen to vibrate your fingers when you touch the screen.

Also I'd argue it's not a true stereo effect since the top speaker is so much lower quality than the bottom speaker.

Wish there was an app that let me adjust the balance more quickly.

Maybe it's your phone. I'm a lifelong musician and find the speakers (for being smartphone speakers) pretty well-balanced as far as sound quality. And they are true stereo, for what it's worth.

Hello fellow lifelong musician. I play the piano and cello. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who has noticed a difference between the quality of the upper and lower speakers, there are posts about this. I thought I was going crazy and I went to the apple store, and all the demo units have the same issue. The speaker quality is just not the same between the top and bottom speaker.

What's the primary difference you notice? Just curious.

EDIT: There is a slight quality difference, but I wonder if it's partly because we can press the earpiece speaker fully against our ear, whereas we really can't do that with the bottom speaker. I'm just looking for causes here.

Go to accessibility, adjust balance all the way to the L. Play some music.

Hold the phone upright (home button towards bottom), appreciate the depth of sound and clarity of the bottom speaker.

Now turn the phone upside down (home button towards top), appreciate how tinny everything sounds with the top speaker. Sound output is definitely not equal between the speakers.

My new iPhone 7 Plus 128GB matte black has a screen vibration issue when I'm playing audio.

When I am listening to a podcast, or playing a song, there seems to be excessive screen vibrations when I place my finger on the screen. It's like the audio vibrates the entire screen. I often like to put my phone in my front shirt pocket and play music / podcasts when I'm walking. Now it feels like i'm receiving vibrating text messages the whole time.

I don't have this issue with my 6 Plus and 6s Plus screens. Those screens are solid. I'm not sure if this is due to the new stereo speakers being much louder on the phone. Or maybe the screen is not glued on tight enough?

Anyone else notice this issue? Play some music or a podcast on your phone. Place finger on the screen. Does it vibrate excessively?
I am facing the same problem. If anyone has any solution to this please share.

Mine is doing exactly the same! Sooo annoying. It's meant to be all this and that but I prefer my 5s!
I can't even do a voice text as it comes up completely different.
I asked Siri to take me to the closest petrol station and it comes up with my parents home address! So many problems with this phone. Not impressed

[doublepost=1480115659][/doublepost]I've used several; maybe all series of, iPhones to listen to an hour or so of audio-podcasts over the phones speaker. I set in on my dinning table, toilet tank, or night stand in a hotel. My iPhone 7 (jet black) vibrates the surface a lot. I notice when I go to pick it up while playing the screen is noticeably vibrating. None of the other iPhones did this. I put a cloth under iphone 7 and figure approximately when my warranty runs out and pieces vibrate loose; apple will fix it for a reasonable price. Or sell me the iPhone 8?

It's unavoidable. The bottom speakers are laid down horizontally and have more 'breathing' room. The top speakers are placed vertically and there's virtually no room for it to 'breathe'. What I did was using the audio balance in accessibility and slide it more to the top speakers to offset the slight volume difference between the top and bottom speakers. The only problem is I can only hold my phone in one particular landscape orientation and not the other way round. Maybe my ears aren't audiophile quality, the only discernible difference I can hear is that the top speakers are slightly softer than the bottom ones.
