So tonight I'm restore the iPhone and updating to the latest OS via iTunes. Then restoring from iCloud backup. We will see if it makes any difference.

Why not just leave it as is so you can duplicate the problem to Apple and do a walk in appt. Hot batteries would probably be treated as a priority so you might be able to get it taken care of right away.

I know what you mean, but i thought I'd give something a go before my appointment on Friday.I have screen shots of the temp warning and battery use stats so I can show them those. Phone is currently restoring from backup and understandably getting hot but once that is complete we'll see if the restore has helped at all.

It might. I wiped mine and set up as new to see if that could rule out a hardware issue and it operated normally. It did, so I wiped it again and restored to a different backup that was known to be good and that seemed to do the trick.

Battery seems to be last longer but it's overheating still. Not getting an overheat warning, it's just super hot to touch once your running a couple of apps! Unfortunately missed my appointment at the Apple Store today as my son is in Hospital. Rescheduled for next week.

mine was doing that and i didnt feel like restoring or anything so i just spoke with a genius and got it replaced with a different one....problem solved.

Any luck with yours? did Apple fix it? cheers

any luck here?

my phone is doing the same exact thing now. in the mornings i go to the gym and after an hour of listening to music via bluetooth headphones the battery goes from 100% to 60%. Mind you I've been doing this for months and this has never happened before. It started happening earlier this week and has happened every day since.

Sometimes I get out of the car, the phone is 22% battery, and by the time I walk two flights up to my desk it's at 14%. Insane.

And the phone is hot.

Battery indicator says messages app is using 25%... which is crazy. I have no idea why.

Tried hard setting - didn't help.

Updating to 10.3.1 tonight and hope it'll fix it...

All nonsense except perhaps number 1 - even then just avoid hot places and leaving your iPhone in the sun...
