iPhone 7 Plus Said to Have 256GB Option and Larger 3,100 mAh Battery

16GB iPhone 6 = $649
64GB iPhone 6 = $749

16GB model outsells the 64GB 5:1

2016...

16GB model = $649
64GB model = $749
128GB model = $849
256GB model = $949 or high estimate $1049

Which one do you think will sell the most? 16GB! Because people see $100 cheaper > any memory size more.

Apple will never ditch 16GB. It's like their Honda civic model of iPhone.

i actually think the 64GB sells better. upselling > for "just" a 100$ more i can get 4 times as much memory. it certainly works on me lol

How about finally ditching the embarrassing default 16GB of memory?

By the time they do 32GB will be a joke.

The phone is thin enough... That fade is over imo

Really is, just because they can does not make it a good idea. Phone are already awkward to hold without a case so thinner really does not add anything. Focus on all the other factors.

How thin do they want phones to be? Thin as a credit card?

A little over kill, but if it means that people will buy a plus model over the regular I guess it will be better for sales. Heck, I'm even considering buying it if it means this much more storage. Hopefully this means that they will finally do away with the 16GB base storage.

No.

As much as I love Apple, it seems like they're getting more and more out of touch with what I'd like to see in an iPhone. My ideal iPhone 7 would be:
  • Same screen sizes with an added 4" iPhone mini/"c" model
  • Same thickness, using smaller internals to make way for more battery
  • Leave the headphone jack alone
  • 32/64/128 storage options (or better yet but less likely 64/128/256)
  • 4 GB RAM
  • And most importantly, no feature differences between models – optical image stabilization available on all iPhones
C'mon, Tim: make it happen!

Could someone please let me know if they have a 128GB that is not enough? I don't see why you would need 256GB in a phone.

Otherwise, I think Apple should bring the 32GB iPhone (not as standard though).

This is not me ranting/hating, but I'm just wondering, and do find it weird having 256GB?

Sci-fi has the answer.

How about not buying the 16GB option and understanding that 16 is enough for some people even though it may not be enough for you.

I think people would complain a lot less if there were a 32 GB option in between, like there used to be.

It's possible that there's more to it than an upsell (Apple is notorious for gobbling up as much NAND storage as they can, and still not being able to satisfy demand), but it still feels like one.

More like

16GB model = $649
64GB model = $749
128GB model = $849
256GB model = $1549

I wouldn't put it past Apple to continue offering 16GB as the base storage in the new iPhone 7 and increase it to 32GB for the 7s (just to have a compelling reason to upgrade).

It doesn't change the fact that the competition offers more for less.
