hi,
I'm just wondering how I would go about Pre ordering the iPhone 7 after the event,
I've never pre ordered an apple device before, I've always just gone to the apple retail store in the uk the day after release hoping that they will have stock,
Can I pre order online and collect in the Apple Store ?, Or is online pre orders only for home delivery ?
Thanks

You can pick up OR have delivered.

The devices usually go on sale via the Apple Store at 12 midnight pacific time. I get up at 3:30 eastern so I just set the alarm early and it takes like a few minutes to order and it is delivered to my office. No way I want to be around an Apple store but some enjoy the mass of people.

I'm planning on doing in store pickup, mostly so I can trade in my 6 at the same time. I'm just going to wait until the evening to pick it up, and hopefully avoid any massive crowds.

Do they take orders over the phone? I think they do but I've never tried it.

In the UK, we don't usually get the pick up from a Apple store option for a week or so, at least in by area. I will be pre-ordering online this year! i have Apple Pay on my iPad Pro, i was wondering if it would be faster to use that on the Apple App? i have not used Apple Pay yet since I've had it set up.

Omg, i never thought about pre-ordering it via Apple Pay. I think it would be quicker as it will be one finger click and then thats it, pre-ordered. I can't believe that you haven't used Apple Pay yet. I always use it. I find it so much quicker than getting your card out. If you're planning on using Apple Pay for pre-ordering i suggest you do a test at a local shop to make sure your Apple Pay is working correctly.

The only reason I haven't used it yet is because, here in the UK we have a £30 limit on it at the moment. That's a good point, I should test it out, I did set it up with my bank so it should work.

I'm from the UK and i never knew that we have a £30 limit! Thanks for the info. I use it mostly for Costa, Starbucks Caffe Nero, Tesco's, Greggs and other small transactions.

Ahhhhhh pre-order time is almost here! Its that time of the year where we all grow gray hairs and continuously refresh our browsers for order status/shipping updates. I love this time of the year! :)
Omg!! You're getting me excited. I'm so bad for constantly refreshing my order status and when i get a new email I'm like "YASS BITCH, PLEASE BE FROM APPLE" haha!!

What can be the date for the Pre-order ?
Rumours are going around saying pre-orders start on September 9th.

This will be my first year not having the App Store and being able to order with Apple Pay. I have to go through the Apple website and be fast with the clicks, hope I can still get it day 1 and not get delayed with the process.

Really wish they would offer store pick up here in the UK, it would be much handier for so many people.

I've been fairly fortunate in previous years that I've been able to either be at home for delivery myself, or at least have somebody else at my home.

However, if delivery is on the 16th this year, we are away at a family thing that day. Would be much happier ordering to pick up in store early that day, rather than knowing I'm ordering, going to be away on delivery day, and my new phone is at the mercy of some courier until I can organise redelivery or pick it up from their depot.

This is true, they haven't even started the Apple Upgrade programme here in the UK, it's been nearly a year. It would be great to be able to do that and have instore pick up or delivery as an option.
The 16th is rumoured from Evan Blass, a well known leaker, he still stands by the 16th as the release date for the iPhone 7. However other rumours have said the 23rd, which would be 2 weeks on Friday. So presuming Apple will accept pre-orders on Friday it will be 1 week later, if it's the 16th for release, or 2 weeks if it's the 23rd for release.

I'm not sure if you are able to contact the couriers and ask them to delay delivery until a later date.

For the first time ever, I'm actually hoping delivery is the later of the two options, so somebody can be at my home for the delivery.

The £30 restriction is being lifted in more and more places, as they upgrade their terminals. There are already a few large retailers that no longer have a limit for Apple Pay in the UK. At least all the retailers mentioned on the UK Apple Pay site (and the Apple Stores) have had the limit removed. Also as far as I am aware the restriction is only applicable to in-store contactless terminals, not online Apple Pay transactions.

I didn't no this, i thought there was still a £30 restriction in most stores, the only one i know that there isn't, is the Apple Store. I plan on pre-ordering the iPhone 7 using Apple Pay on the Apple App, i just hope it works and is easier than using the webpage, everytime i've pre-ordered in the past, I've selected the model i've wanted, entered in all the delivery and card details, by the time I've done that, the delivery date has slipped. I had to wait around a month for my 6 Plus. Hopeful tho, this time will be better with using Apple Pay and the Apple Store app.

Possible, you may be able to ask them to hold it at the depot. As for release date, i really don't know, Evan Blass has a great track record and the other day he re-confirmed that he is sure about the iPhone 7 release being on the 16th. My problem with this, is that if Apple are indeed (as rumoured) having trouble with the amount they are making, wouldn't it be better to have the release on the 23rd? that way it gives them more time to get more of them made. Especially if the "piano black" is going to be in popular demand.

Normally you can arrange to have an item delivered to a local store to collect at your convenience, I think you can only do it via the website though. Also, not sure if it works for pre-orders.

I always preorder through Verizon. Never have had an issue. That time of year again folks. And with the iPhone launch, the can only mean one thing....the Fall season is upon us :)
