Got told earlier by network that Apple advised of issues - apparently it's due to firmware setting being left on factory display level.

Was advised to return to store (Apple or network) for 20min update to fix the issue.

    Very annoying.

My pic...(7 on left, 6 on right)

I can pretty much guarantee that taking it back to a "network" store will not result in a 20 min update to fix the issue. It will probably result in 20 mins of head scratching. Might even find the same result at an Apple store. I have never heard of an in store update fix for any issue on any iPhone since 2007.

So it is a software issue?

WAs at two different ATT stores and can verify both Plus models had very dim yellow screens! Must be software issue!

So are we saying they need to be taken in to Apple? I have never heard of something like this before.

Sure I'm sceptical too, but was told by network technical dept they received an email from Apple this morning (knowing there'd be a few complaints).

I'm very reluctant to take it back to waste further time. Hopefully, 10.0.1 will be released over weekend, if not I'll reject/return and buy in a couple weeks when this is confirmed as sorted.

So they are saying take to your Carrier store, or an Apple Store?

Do you mean 10.0.2? Because 10.0.1 was already available to install on my iPhone 7.

I miss my crisp bright "white" iPhone 6s Plus screen already. :(

iPhone needs OLED already. The display on the Note 7 is amazing and really bright even on sunny days.

Seriously, this is ridiculous and shouldn't be an issue in 2016.

Have you compared directly side by side? If not you may not notice, but side by side it's definitely there.

Let me ask this....aside from the handful who are having issue with screen brightness, how are the other characteristics of the screen compared to last year. Are the pressure points present? Is the book spine effect across the top?

The screen on my iPhone 7 128GB Black is a bit warmer than my old iPhone 6S and not as bright. I hope the issue with brightness will be solved in an update. Other than that it is perfect. No pressure points, no book spine effect and no dead pixels. And the colors are great!

I did -- I'm honestly not noticing a difference beyond the 7 being a little bit brighter

edit: one caveat for what it's worth, I'm colorblind o_O

I was comparing my 6S to my 7 both laying flat on a desk and immediately noticed the 7 was warmer and not as bright.

    BUT

Literally as I was looking back and forth between the two screens, the 7 got brighter in an instant, and now they basically match. 7 is a touch warmer.

Well I am just sitting here in my car, and all the the sudden the screen just keeps getting brighter and brighter. Looks really good now. I have no clue what I did different. I am just looking at Tapatalk app.

Maybe there's a software problem with auto brightness? Like it's not getting past a certain level.

The phone could possibly be brighter but the screen a little warmer, so the whites don't look as bright? The screen is deffo bright, but whites not as white so making it look darker?? If that makes sense
