I just ordered the case yesterday and it was delivered this morning, I'll try to post something tonight when I get home from work and compare it against my ocean blue and sky blue case.

I was at the Apple Store this weekend and handled the new silicone cases (new colors) for the iPhone 8. I love the new cobalt blue color. It’s vibrant and bright, but not in your face bright. And it’s lighter than the midnight blue color. I’m definitely getting cobalt blue for my future iPhone X Silver

I do have to say, color aside, the texture of this iteration seems different, in a good way

Agreed. Apple silicone cases have a nice silky feel to them.

I currently have the olive and black. Impressed with both, although black shows more blemishes

I picked up my silver iPhone X and got the blue cobalt silicone case. I had the midnight blue on my silver iPhone 6s. I debated whether to get midnight blue, blue cobalt, or white. But when I saw the blue cobalt in person at the Apple Store, I knew it was the one I wanted. I liked it so much that I bought the Smart Cover for iPad Pro in blue cobalt too. This shade of blue makes midnight blue look dull.
