Will the next iPhone 7 have stereo speakers?
any info? why the perforated holes on the other side where the current speakers are now?

We'll find out when Apple announces the details of the next phone.

Can you wait one week? I am confident your questions will be answered then. Because no one here knows, other than the rumors already listed.

I hope not. I think multiple speakers would require me to hold the phone differently in landscape to avoid blocking one. It seems like a potential nuisance.

I don't really think so but who knows... We will know in a couple of days but I sure hope they put 2 instead of one...

What prevents you from blocking the one speaker now in landscape mode? With two you have 100% less chance of blocking.

If it's blocked in one orientation I can flip the phone 180 degrees and the problem is resolved. With 2 speakers that one location might still be blocked and I'd be getting partially muffled sound.

Well you have a real 1st world problem. For your sake, hope they have only one speaker. For me I hope it's stereo as I can hold it properly. Hey didn't we have that issue with iPhone 4 antennas, holding it right? :D

You are probably being sarcastic but....

How are you holding your iPhone? Even if you had some weird grip on it in landscape you can turn it 180 degrees so your hand is on the opposite side. Are you holding with both hands, palms smushed against each side? Lol

Edit: Apparently this was for real....

iPads have had stereo speakers going on 4 years now and this is the first I've heard of this.

When I play real racing I do have my hands smushed against each side.

Stereo speakers in something as small as a phone is just a useless gimmick. There's no way that each ear is going to get different sounds, so no stereo effect.

There is more to stereo sound than speaker separation. If whatever you are listening too especially music/movies/etc were recorded with a stereo track a lot of fidelity will be lost when reproducing via mono speaker.
