OP you should stick to something like this below instead.
Perfect when doing manual labor, mortar, bricks, tiles, shoveling and your hands are covered in grout etc...
You can stick it in any pocket easy, it can take plenty of hits and abuse and it will do the basic things you need like texts, phone calls to give quotes etc...

I have a TV that runs AmigaOS. Gawd. :D
LOL!

I used to have an Amiga 1000. Kept the monitor and used it attached to our cable box. Then the speaker started going so I resoldered it. Which burnt the speaker board. Which meant I had to plug cables into the audio jack to get sound.

:D

I was an Atari ST/STE guy myself. Had a custom-built 25 Mhz accelerator built by Jim Allen.

Commodore 64/128 for me. Ran a BBS (Bulletin Board System) during my junior/senior years in high school.

Bought the Amiga 1000 from a guy going off to Annapolis (US Navy) but by that time I was more heavily invested in PCs. I didn't convert to Mac until early 2003 when my PC died and took all my files with it.

I am so frustrated right now. Why, because I just fired up my iPhone 3GS from the dead and I miss it very much.

I finally upgraded to a new iPhone 7 on launch day after the ancient iPhone 3GS failed after many many years. The touch screen stopped responding in the lower half after it was dropped. I got by with an old Samsung slider phone for a while, but that just totally sucked.

Now that I have been using a new iPhone 7 for a few months (since launch), here are my thoughts.

1. Even the 'regular' iPhone 7 is RIDICULOUSLY large. It requires two hands to use. I can't imagine being one of you poor souls that got the Plus model.

2. Touch ID never worked for me. What a stupid gimmick. I finally disabled it because it never worked and now I have to put in my code with two hands because it is so large.

3. This thing is so big that it wears out my jean pockets at work and especially because of the required Otter box case to protect my investment.

4. What exactly is my return on investment for buying this thing in the first place?
[doublepost=1482650817][/doublepost]Other considerations....

If you are outside and shoveling snow, there is no way the iP7 will register your print or accessing the so called 'home' button.

The whole Touch ID thing really burned me with this phone. I've been using Apple products since '91 but now that updating the Macintosh has become an afterthought.....well....

I recently bought a Sony TV. It runs on Android and well, it just works.

All good points that need to be made, repeatedly, about these stupid 6-series phones (one too big, the other way too big). Apple is full of idiots and its followers are sheep. The company could release a 2-pound brick and the people would buy it. There hasn't been a pocketable phone since the BlackBerry Curve.

You forgot to mention the other Apple brain fart called 3D Touch--you know, the one where you press down and something happens, like right-click on Windows. Duh--and boring. And because of that Apple made the phones even heavier and thicker.

Some of just need basic phone/texting capability and something that actually works without wearing a hole in your pocket.

That's assuming you can even get it into your pocket. Even if you can, don't sit down!

That's impossible. Impossibile that Touch ID never work. Probably your phone is defective or you don't know how to use it.

Hi give it a week to adjust, if not grab the SE. Fantastic phone and same battery as the 7.

I bought applecare on my 6 no accidents yet on my 6, i have a glass screen protector( on my third atm)
I use a spigen capsule case and the 6 is still fine, actually got my battery replaced by apple just recently! You dont really need a otterbox.

Tbh for you, i think the SE is a much better phone overall. It of course uses older technology but is still lightning fast. Its omly 0.5inches bigger then the 3gs on screen size. Try it in store!

Actually, 3D touch has become pretty useful and there are quite a few times that I use it.

Three examples: By hard pressing Outlook I can view my current or upcoming event and start a new email or create a calendar event. Same thing with Google Keep. Starting a new note, adding photos, etc. And then with the phone app, I can easily get to my top contacts with a simple push, or add a contact, get to voicemail, etc.

One push for all these things simplifies the UI.

Older technology? When it came out it was just as fast as the 6s since it has the same specs.

Returning is always an option. The reality is these are the phones we have today. You need to either adapt, use something else, or nothing at all. As far as touch ID, do you do a lot of manual work? I know people with worn fingertips that it doesn't work well for at all. Otherwise see if someone you know can use it with their fingers. If they can't either, it may be a faulty device.

Yes, lots of manual work. I mostly remodel bathrooms and kitchens contstantly for an aging apartment complex. I work with a lot of tile, mortar, grout, drywall everyday. I'm thinking that the Otter box is really impeding the Touch ID, but I don't dare remove it because of all the dust. Callusses and worn finger tips come with the job.

Other than the Touch ID issue I'm having and the physically large size, it's been a great phone.

I like this. I might go back to my old Samsung slider phone for convenience at work. I feel like I'm connected enough as it is with my Macs anyway.

I have an easily pocketable phone. It's called the iPhone 7 Plus. I can even sit down with it. Oh, the humanity!
You must have Seriously big pockets on your jeans if you can fit a 7 plus in them comfortably. I tried a plus and it was a little too bulky to sit comfortably in my front pocket like my 7 does, and I don't carry a man bag :D .. I reckon if they reduced the size of the bezels but kept the 5.5 inch screen it would be less phablet and more phone sized.

Unfortunately I don't think it will ever work for you then. Maybe future iterations but not the phone you bought. It's a bummer because when it's working it's incredibly convenient.

I wear a size 32 in Levi's slim fit; also have some Lucky and that's it. It fits ok (recently added a card wallet thing to the back and that sucks lol). Idk how people define "comfort" but in jeans I've always known the phone was there. The lucky jeansnhsbe bigger (deeper) pockets do that's nice I guess. It's not something I'd personally complain about, anyway. I'll say that pulling my keys out is a much bigger pita lol.

Just normal jeans.

I have these exact jeans, http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-2256767/helix-relaxed-bootcut-jeans-men.jsp and they fit my IP7+ just fine while sitting and standing.

Hmmm I guess I must be worried about bending the phone or something with a plus in my front jean pocket .. it just feels too big and like there's pressure against it when trying sitting down in jeans. Still reckon if they reduced those bezels and had the screen more edge to edge like something out of Westworld that 5.5 inch screen would feel better in the pocket guys ;)

For women it's hard and even for me as a male who doesn't wear skinny jeans I find it hard to pocket the plus....just saying. Not a huge issue. I just went with the seven because it feels better IMHO

My girlfriend is a nurse and her scrubs are a challenge for a large phone. Also, she complains about women's fashions tending toward smaller pockets.
