iPhone 7 water resistance

I'm treating the water resistance as insurance against accidental water, rather than going swimming with the thing.

IE, if I get caught in the rain I don't have to be as careful. If it falls into the pool on accident it'll probably be fine.

When water dries it leaves whatever was dissolved in it behind. This means your speaker, mic, lightning port will all start to accumulate crap that's difficult to clean. It's not worth it, folks. Treat it as insurance against accidental water damage and don't ruin your phones. :)

You don't have to turn it off. You can keep using it like normal.

The biggest thing to be careful of is making sure it's 100% dry before charging the battery. To be safe, Apple suggests waiting five hours after submersion before charging the phone.

Also, if it is exposed to a liquid other than plain water, make sure you rinse it thoroughly. Salt water, coffee, soda, they can all have a deleterious effect with long-term exposure. Rinse it under tap water, then let it dry thoroughly before charging.

What if dust get in the ear piece during Normal use for example dust from pants or coat , dust from a table or cloth will the iPhone be ok ?

Dust has been getting in iPhones since 2007 with no ill effects. You worry too much about trivial things.

However, the iPhone 7 is IP67 dust- and water-resistant so it should be even less of a factor.
