So I've had my iPhone 7 plus for a couple months now and I love it, but there is one thing i have been too scared to try out and that is the water resistance on the phone. My question is has anyone tried out just how water resistant is and what has been your experiences with it ?

You need to treat your iPhone just like past iPhones and avoid water. People have already dropped them in the toilet and got them wet with very poor results.

If water does get in your phone and the water sensors goes off, your warranty is void!

Washed mine under the tap several times and it turned out well. No issues and no I do not recommend anyone trying it out. I did it knowing the consequences and I can live with it. And most manufactures will not recommend nor cover water damage under warranty, and do not expect it unless and otherwise it explicitly states "Water Proof" which is highly unlikely.

My excited 5 year old son tested it for me (with my permission), within an hour of me buying it from Apple. That was release day.

Later that day I noticed the front facing speaker was distorted, but that fixed itself later that day.

Been absolutely fine since.

Had to be done to be honest!

That's just because water was still in the speaker.

I've used mine out in the rain and tried recording with it underwater in the sink and it was fine.

There's videos online of it being used in deep sea water etc so I don't think a bit of tap water will harm it

It shouldn't and likely wouldn't, but certainly could nonetheless, as has been the case with some people who have posted about things of that nature happening to them.

Months ago i accidentally drop my 7+ in a stream. I picked out of water and it was fine. Even mine got an issue of cracking sound when i twist the phones body that i thought it would have problem resisting water. So dont worry about water.

On the other hand some have gotten theirs wet and damaged them.

Yeah, I wouldn't go that far to say "dont worry about water"....
