I don't like Android at all, but what you're saying makes no sense. I am not talking about the $1,000 price and the Note8 at all. This is NOT a new technology and many Chinese crap already have it, including the old S7/S8 by Samsung. As a fella from the forum already said, just because Apple have put years old of technology into the iPhone doesn't justify a 7S (in case there's 8 aswell).

And to the guy who said that people should buy whatever they want is a bad mindset. Because as much as I like Apple and it's iPhones, if we agree to buy whatever they offer us, however minor it is and we are willing to spend a lot of money on it, it will become just like Intel. They would be giving us the old units over and over again, till a competitor does something about it, and we won't push into further development. I hope I expressed myself in a way you can understand my point of view.

TLDR; In my opinion it's going to be bad for Apple of releasing 3 phones at once if there's a huge difference between them.
Great point, and perfect analogy with Intel.

Personally, no phone is worth $1k+ to me. I'll stick with my cheap SE, and cheaper Samsung until both companies start pushing some envelopes.

I understand that people are upset that the redesign could start at an expensive price. Like I have said in previous posts, this is all about scalability. The iPhones scale worldwide makes it extremely difficult to integrate new tech. Also there's a shortage of OLED panels worldwide. Again, the production will ramp up to 50 million. I'm saying that the combination of these two factors with jack up the price. When this thing comes out it will be sold it. It will be impossible to get this in stores. It will be like the 7 plus in jet black, only 10 times worse. There will be many people who will dislike the design of the 8. And the 7s is a reality. Confirmed by dozens of leaks. So it's happening

My iPhone 4S is not working properly any more. Top button doesn't work for years and with iOS 9 it became really slow. I think about getting a new one and as I keep them until they break the latest will give one more year of usage with the latest OS. Hence I think about the 7S.

For the past year I've been eagerly awaiting the "iphone 8" but to be honest, lately, the lower price of the 7s/7s+ while still offering a significant upgrade over my iphone 6, along with getting to keep TouchID (I really think I prefer it over facial recognition) is making me seriously consider the 7s+ instead. I'd love a bigger screen on a smaller form factor, but other than that, none of the speculated features of the "8" sound like anything I need.

The same as the 7/7 plus last year. The price may increase slightly due to inflation but I think it will be roughly the same.

You have had quite the fulfillment with your iPhone 4s. But that goes to show you an iPhone of that age already, lasts much longer than most would expect and it still receives support as long as it did with iOS 9. And that's what I like about Apple devices, someone doesn't have to choose to upgrade to the latest device to still appreciate what they want from the device, even if It's an older one.

My uncle still uses his 3GS on iOS 6 but now WhatsApp and others like weather applications stopped working so he thinks about a new one as well

The selling point will be having the latest chip and updated tech without being a guinea pig for the bleeding edge new form factor/manufacturing, etc.
Remember the first revision of Apple products:
- iPhone 4: antennagate. Fixed in 4S
- iPhone 5: QC. Fixed in 5S
- iPhone 6: bendgate. Fixed in 6S

Had all these phones and none of these problems bothered me in the real world. But people have to have something to complain about I guess.

Those problems may or may not bother you (I had the iPhone 4, and antennagate didn't bother me), but those problems did exist, and Apple did fix them on the S version. Acknowledging them is different than ignoring them and pretending they didn't happen.

Whatever Apple will do for the iPhone "8" will be new. It's up to you to be willing to risk them at the upside of having a new-looking iPhone. Personally, I don't buy iPhones for looks, so I'll just wait till 2018 when Apple fine-tuned their manufacturing process further. My 6S still does the job well.

I don't give a **** about the money. If there's just 8, 8+ then so be it, but not including a 7S along with it. That's what I was trying to say.
