Anyone using their new iPhone 8/8+ sans a case? I have an old 7 plus Silicone case but with the glass back maybe I can ditch protection and go all natural!

Absolutely! I am very careful to put my phone in my front left pocket only, and the keys and wallet are always in the front right pocket. I never have loose change in my pockets, it's alway in my wallet. So there's zero risk of me scratching mine. On my desk, I have a piece of material that's designed for cleaning glasses, on to which I have always put my phones. So there's a deeply entrenched and intrinsic care of them from me. It's when I pass it to others that I panic! I had my 3G dropped and bounced across the floor by my wives ex on the very day I got it!

Always do use my phones w/o a case, same for this.... I do eventually get a few minor dings on my phones but the reduced resale value is worth it for me getting to use it naked for all that time.

I have a super slim totallee case on mine just to prevent scratches on the glass/sides. I tried a screen protector but I remember why I hate them. Never line up properly and a tiny piece of dust got under it somewhere. Screw that.

I'm using without a case! Haven't used a case since the 5S (upgrade yearly) and haven't had a problem with it

I had the Apple case on my 6 plus for three years. However as I've today joined the iUP I decided to go caseless. I'll see how I go and maybe put one on if I feel like it's getting too slippery.

I bought AppleCare+ this go around on mine. I plan on using them caseless and screen protector-less this round to see how things go. Traveling or extreme use I have my Apple leather cases from the 7's that I will use.

I figure that if I'm paying for the peace of mind should something happen, I might as well take the chance and enjoy the phone as it was designed to be used.

Now, that being said, if I didn't have AppleCare+...NOPE!

I'll never understand case users. Why use a case? Protecting it from scratches? Why protect it in the first place if you're never going to see and feel the original, beautiful design. It may get dirtier and with scratches if naked, but this way you're truly experiencing the gorgeous design and premium materials of the expensive phone you paid for.

generally speaking agree, esp with the front glass which is only 29 bucks to replace with AC+....slightly concerned with the glass back scratching though...

I want to since it’s such a nice design, but I find the phone really slippery with the glass back. It’s a hard phone to hold one handed as it is but without a case, it’s really hard.....

So far I haven’t put a case on my 8. Definitely not as slippery as the 7.

Anyone can comment on how the Jet Black 7's grip compares to the 8?

I would've used my 6S without a case but it was way too slippery. I'm considering get a used Jet Black 7, but if the 8 has significantly better grip I may just plunk down the extra cash for it.

Ever since the iPhone 5 I’ve paired every generation of black phone with the (RED) Apple case. I think it’s a cool look. My 8+ is in the red silicone case I used on my 7+. I even have the matching Apple Watch bands and Smart Cover for my iPad.

Love my jet black. I'd say they're both comparable

I'll be between my Caudabe Lucid Clear or Veil XT this year. Probably will use the Lucid Clear most of the time because it's totally clear as opposed to the frost of the Veil XT. Fits great, keeps the phone slim and I can still see the iPhone in its full glory. Not too bad of a fingerprint magnet either for what it is.

I've tried to go without a case, but drops are inevitable. I cared less with the aluminum back, but I'd absolutely hate to chip the glass back. Not so much the expense, just would be seriously irritating.

Went with silver to go naked this time specifically.

No finger prints
Grippy with the glass back
Feels fantastic in the hand

Risky but I’m not compromising this beauty.
