iPhone 8/Plus iPhone 8/8+ on sale in Product Red tomorrow

Apple has just announced on their site that the iPhone 8/8+ will go on sale tomorrow on Apple's site and available for pickup on Friday in store. A couple of questions for you guys:

1) I assume it will be on sale at 12 PST/3 EST like other pre-sales?
2) From past Product Red Launches - Was there a huge demand where it got back-ordered?

Just trying to gauge if I need to get up in the middle of the night for this....

It states that Pre-orders starts 5:30 am PST 4/10/18 for online orders. And 4/13/18 for availability at the Apple Store.

As for your question 2. I highly doubt it will sell out very quickly. iPhone 8 and 8 Plus has been out for a while now, and it's not like everyone is going to get one. So there is not going to be a huge demand. But then it could be different as last year the Product Red had white front, but with this year, they did it with black front.

Thanks, I missed both of that. I'd still prefer to see if someone can answer the stock/back ordered question here since that will be a very noisy thread :)

I'd have loved one when i got mine in December. Not worth the hassle or losing several hundred to sell mine and buy one, though.

Undoubtedly this phone will have some popularity because it is limited, especially, being that it has the black bezel with the display combined with the red backing. There might be some initial delay with orders, but I don’t believe It will be anything where you won’t be able to receive your iPhone in an adequate amount of time if you order later.

For a mid cycle new colour release? I don’t usually give definite answers when it comes to trying to predict the future, but I dare say, no.

Not unless Apple produced very limited stock.

I’m hoping for a slightly better display with better contrast, just in case I can’t use iPhone X if the PWM isn’t adjusted. Technically they could since it takes more than just replacing the exterior casing to release a new SKU.

Of course they did. After I bought my iPhone 8+ about a month or so ago. And naturally, it has the black front instead of the white. Which I hated before in the Red releases.

Oh well. I am still happy with my Gold version. Congrats to those who get the Red version though. It really looks sharp. Nicely done, Apple.

Ask yourself how aware is the general public that a product Red iPhone is launching on Tuesday? Likely not many. That said, every store will vary in what they carry for stock Or customer volume. Also, Apple doesn’t Market the Product Red iPhone heavily either.

While I’m way too happy with my X to be bothered with the 8 and 8 Plus I’m glad they went with the black front for the red version. Looks much better than the bland plasticity white on previous red models.

Being a the limited model, it won’t be offered anything past this year, which Apple will carry this specific iPhone likely until the new iPhones are announced during the September keynote.

Actually, Apple stopped selling just before the September keynote last year. It was no longer available on the site that morning. Can’t recall if it was still available through other sites and retailers (possibly in order to deplete any inventory).
