If it looks like that and doesn't have Touch ID on the back I will be pre-ordering one! The camera being moved is interesting I'm assuming it's for VR reasons. Wireless charging I'm not bothered about really since there is no real wireless charging you still have to attach it to something that is plugged in the wall. If the iPhone 8 looks like that has even more improvements in the camera then I will buy no doubt.

I don't think you quite understand what wireless charging is, or what makes it convenient.

Being oled and having features like wireless charging is enough for me to upgrade.

Touch ID on the back doesn't bother me if iris scanning is there
So basically, as long as it's on par with phones from 2012, you're okay with it? That's a pretty low barrier don't you think? Basically, you don't require any sort of innovation at all? As long as they add features from years ago, it's enough to secure your business?

Huh?

Apple are planning to add features that the 2017 flagships will have that's all I want from Apple. To have key features that are important for me

Tech is damn hard to improve so oled and bezel less display would be perfect running ios

Other OEM's (particularly Samsung) are pushing the envelope and innovating, even though its "hard" to improve. Honestly, that just sounds like an excuse used to excuse a lack of innovation. Apple needs to do more than add features from years ago. They need to do something innovative, and bring something differentiating to the market. If all they are going to do is imitate Galaxy, you might as well buy a Galaxy.

Polished stainless steel will scratch if you look at it funny. Like the old iPod backs and the stainless bezel on the first iPhone. Seems like matte stainless like iPhone 4 would be a better choice.

Apple couldn't make something that ugly even if it were trying....

Samsung?.... not so much, they will have it's twin out within the year.

Boy is that thing ugly. I know the materials used will be different but the curved edges aren't for me. Anyone else think it looks really thick?

I totally agree. It looks like a cheap imitation of the Nexus 6 from 2014. If it winds up looking like this, that will be a major fail.

You haven't seen the iPhone 7 and 7+? lol

No because that runs touchwiz and not IOS

If it did then I would of bought the S8 plus and even then I was tempted.

It's not an excuse you can only hope for features you currently know about.

How is this not on the front page yet? MacRumors is slow today.

I wonder what Apple will do as far as color choices go for the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7s "Edition". Also, that stainless steel could easily scratch...hmm.

This reminds me of the Stainless Steel Apple Watch, in a good way.

It will, however, show fingerprints and smudges just as much.

Why do I feel that these were leaked deliberately as a response to the overwhelmingly positive response the new S8 design has received?

I've been an iPhone user since 2007, and will continue to be an iPhone user, definitely getting the "8" if that is how it's designed.

However, out of sheer curiosity, I have ordered the S8 as well. With DeX, Gear VR, the Classic Gear watch and Chromecast Ultra.

As wonderful as iPhone 7 is, it's getting boring, design-wise. 3 years with practically the same design.

It'll be interesting to compare my usual Apple Watch + iPhone combo to the S8 + Gear watch combo. It'll also be interesting to see how Android goes with my all Apple ecosystem (iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad Pro, Mac Mini, Apple TV).

About this iPhone leak – do you think the rumored new iPad Pro will adopt a similar steel & glass design?

I definitely think it will have a vertical camera. As far as touch ID goes, this makes me think of the case of the 3.5 mm Jack last year. Everyone said they would never remove it and mock ups/Prototypes we're showing that the Jack was removed. These latest mock ups/Prototypes are showing mostly the touch ID being placed on the back. But if Apple offers three models, do they place touch ID on the back of all three of them or just for OLED model if that does exist? That's what has me peculiar at the moment.
I think the "7S" will have Touch ID on the back, as it seems likely cheaper to implement. The version shown here will have it under the display. Higher cost all round. We have to pay for the research and development Apple did to get the Touch ID under the display somehow.
Edit: there's an update to the original 9to5 Mac article. Space Grey stainless steel.

I think using "7s" or "8" doesn't indicate anything based on the name. Also, I don't foresee Touch ID happening this year embedded under the display, likely due to yields and parts/suppliers. I think Apple will remap the sensor to the back of the iPhone, but my question stands as is, is it remapped for ALL the LED models and OLED model (If there is OLED) or just the OLED model. Time will tell, but recent renders/leaks are indicating in this direction.

Apple never makes anything ugly? I dunno, those battery cases with those humps are pretty ugly imo...Apple certainly isn't perfect in everything they design.

This doesn't look bad to me though. And it's just one of multiple prototypes...

First, it's important to remember this is a mock up that has no legitimacy.

Legitimate question. You own the iPhone 7 Plus, which has a protruding dual camera. Now you're labeling the vertical camera on the alleged iPhone 8 as "Fugly." And you're saying you won't purchase the "iPhone 8" based off of a protruding camera. So why would you purchase the iPhone 7 that has the exact same design for the dual camera, except it's just rotated differently on this mock up?

Is it really that much of a concern for you that you won't purchase the iPhone 8 based off the rotation of the exact same camera? I'm not following your argument here at all.

that looks like **** if you ask me. I'm really tempted to try out Galaxy S8 and I hate Android very much :( Damn sometimes I wish I wasn't that invested into Apple ecosystem.

Well now we know it's totally fake, the leaks yet claims it's 7.1mm thin and the same size as the iPhone 7..... erm... no, not from those photos or flipping well isn't! It's a lot more bulky and bigger.

Eww! It looks all bulky and thick. And if the stainless steel edge rumor is true, if would be a real turn off for me. Those edges would definitely be slippery and ... 'stainable'.
I still don't see the reason for bezel free design. If anything it just make phones look weird.
This mockup blows!

I agree with everything you say.
If it is like this with the polished stainless steel, it would most likely be the final nail in the coffin for me and Apple [after failed pro computers, a poor iPhone is me done]

If it's (near) bezel-less and manages to keep TouchID on the front, that's basically all I ask.

Well, it'd be nice if they brought back the headphone jack, but I know that's like asking for a unicorn.

UPDATED INFO: The same source has provided some more details: the iPhone 8 will supposedly be the same 7.1mm thinness and approximate physical size as the iPhone 7, and the steel surround will actually be a Space Black color.

Wow i want One now

Wow i want One now

Me too :) it's very interesting seeing this "Space Black" it looks like the Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus, maybe it's a continuation of that model and Apple were in fact testing the waters with the Jet Black iPhone 7 last year and the removal of the physical home button, testing instead with the haptic feedback. I wonder if this will be the only iPhone 8 or if it will be available in different colour options, maybe white for example?
