iPhone 8 plus as a backup

1. Is anyone buying the iPhone 8/8 plus as a backup? Which means late iPhone X should mean longer shelf life of the 8 plus. Technically the 8 series is only intended for 6 weeks use, or until the X arrives lol. But the reason I bought the 8 plus is because I just want the S version of the 7 to add to my collection. But now that u think about it, it could be a backup phone just in case.

2. Is anyone buying the X, resell it (make profit) and then wait for the secondary X shipment (second order would probably be weeks)? Also, do you guys think there will be a newer colorway to release mid cycle? A red/black X would be sick.? I'm assuming these would be more feasible if u have the 8 series to entertain you.

Thoughts?

When u buy one it's actually easy to just rotate it. Gone are the days that iPhone is for the rich.
 
You’re going to be able to make lots of money on the X if you get lucky enough and get your order submitted in about 30 seconds after store updates and you get a good shipping time.

I hope so man. My first good Apple flip was the Apple Watch stainless steel. I flipped that and made money lol. I'm hoping the demand is high on the X...... (we know)
 
You have the money to buy two phones in the $1k ballpark and you’re still going to try to flip an X?

I loathe flippers. They ruin it for those of us who simply like Apple products and want to get the new thing. I’m glad I’m skipping the X this year, I’m sure the limited availability will bring out the pond scum who make a cottage industry out of reselling.

Still, not worth the trouble. My iPhone 6 has served me well for 3 years. I can manage to survive using it for 6 more weeks, or even a few months if it comes down to it. Whatever floats your boat, but that seems really unnecessary to me.

Well it's all about planning. I want the X but u can't deny the high demand for it. So for that I'm willing to do so. Even if I want the X so bad.

I can’t deny the demand, but I can certainly choose not to rip people off because of that demand. I know it’s a quick and relatively easy buck to flip a high demand item but it’s a really crappy thing to do.

My new 8+ might be temporary as I also plan on ordering the X.

It's not ripping people off. If they're willing to pay then so be it. This is a free country I wasn't forcing them to spend money.

I'm simply stating the misconception that the iPhone is only for the rich people. I did not say that. And yes I'm getting the phones, both of them.

Yes, making a free market profit to apply towards for future purchase is a BAD, EVIL thing to do.. Hope you are in a socialist country cause that's where you belong.

Given how hard it's been to get a hold of AirPods this year, I'd be amazed you only had to wait a few weeks for your second X.

I don't see them putting another colour way of the X into the market either, if the stories about the manufacturing problems are true they will simply just trying to meet demand and get enough into shops so that they can make as much money as possible, before the Xs(?) next year. Why would they add to the manufacturing schedule by adding more colourways?


Though I'm not 100% sure what discussion your hoping to garner from other people reselling...

Didn't really see the thing for the AirPods I know that it was backordered and all but I'm not into it... yet. Lol

And some people wonder why Apple probably wanted a staggered release all along. This. This is why.

Apple could have a warehouse with 100 million iPhone Xs and they still would hold off launch until November for the people who won’t be able to resist buying a phone right now and then another one in 6 weeks.
