Dont kill me in the comments, I see a lot of people saying the glass is uneven, the speaker makes noise, and other issues, is this widespread , even a friend of mine had to take his plus back on day two , how have been you experiences with your 8 plus ?

Millions are fine & dandy. A few hundred have issues. Such is the nature of machines made by machines.

Forums naturally populate with folks who have issues.

Get the phone you want. It’ll most likely be fine, and if it’s not, Apple’s customer service will take of it/you. Enjoy.

A 2% defect rate on 5.5M phones means over 100K with a defect but that’s likely within tolerance. I’m in this group w/ a crackling speaker on calls. I still love the design & phone and confident Apple will make it right.

Then how come people keep returning them and still get a crackling speaker on exchange?

I don’t know the details of the speaker issue, but I do know that Apple has already addressed it and already said there’s a software fix in the works: https://www.macrumors.com/2017/09/26/apple-iphone-8-static-noise-fix/

P.S. Also not sure why you think that negates my statements. Just trying to be dramatic or combative?
No I don’t think it’s factual. I think it’s much more widespread. My statement is an assumption though just like yours. Unless you work for Apple. Sorry if I came across as combative.

I don't think that forum member was being combative or dramatic at all. They asked you a legitimate question that is of concern with the crackling to others who have no idea what to think until Apple addressed the issue. That question that member asked you is a question some have been wondering. Reality is that the average consumer doesn't know if it's hardware or software related, hence the continual in store exchanges for device that they feel should be working properly for the amount of money they paid from the beginning.

I have not experience any of the issues reported by some thus far. Screen is good, no crackling sounds from the speaker or the earpiece, nor uneven glass. Generally speaking most people that have no issues don’t post on forums, just the ones that do have some issues and by far they’re not that many from the millions sold by Apple

No problem with my iPhone 8 plus, to me I feel that it’s really much better compare to my iPhone 7 Plus in terms of speed and camera.

Could be. Maybe I need a self-imposed timeout. Thanks for the perspective.

My 8 Plus has been great. The only issue I'm having is the GPS doesn't seem to be as accurate as my 6S Plus. If I open the maps app or google maps the location is off quite a bit and constantly moving around even when I’m standing still. If I open Motion X gps is shows the accuracy at 39 feet. I get the same results on my daughters 8 plus. When I compare it to my old 6s Motion x shows the accuracy at 16 feet.

My 8+ is as perfect as is possible in this world system. It’s an incredible piece of tech and Im still marveling that I have something this nice. The camera!

My 8 plus is far and away my favorite iPhone thus far and one of my favorite apple products. I feel like its close to perfect.

Both the 8 and an 8+ I ordered have the annoying speaker crackle. And the number of affected users just keeps growing. Seems likely that all phones are affected - it is intermittent so may take a few days to become noticeable. Hopefully a fix soon - but if not my devices will be going back.
