I suppose I'm one of the lucky ones, I've had my phone since Sunday and have had zero of the issues anyone has talked about. Good build quality, no crackling in the earpiece, no clicking sound coming from the corner.

That said, I must say I think Apple's quality control is down over the past few years. I still think they have a (much) higher degree of quality control than other phone/tech manufacturers, but it's not what it used to be under Jobs.

Had the phone for 2 days. It's epic. Chuffed I opted to upgrade even though my 6s+ was still a beast. I can now attack the next 12 months with a faster cpu, stupendous battery life, better camera etc etc.

Issues with wireless charging on iPhone 8 Plus - once the phone hits 100% charge, the Mophie charging pad will blink and charging will stop and then start again.
Once phone will be charged again - the charging will stop and then enabled again. This can happen multiple times a minute.

Dont know should I blame phone or charging pad - but they both go back to Apple store.

And, I just dont like it. I cant put it in my pocket, it`s heavy and so goddamn expensive.

Plan to take iPhone SE, wait for second/third gen iPhone X - and the rest of the money I`ll spend on beer.

My first 8 had a screen slightly uneven in color that in all honesty most people wouldn't notice. Certainly the Apple employees never do. I exchanged it and the new 8 has a great screen. Neither phone had any issues otherwise.

Okay, I send back my new and shiny iPhone 8+ 256Gb and wireless pad.

Instead, I got myself iPhone SE 128Gb, and saved 500 bucks.

Why does it feel like an upgrade? Maybe, because I`m with best design iPhone had (IMHO), or because the fact I can put my phone in my front pocket - and not care that there are keys, change etc?

Man, in all seriousness, iPhone 8/8+ just doesnt deliver.

The 8 Plus is a great phone but it’s just just too wide and heavy for my small hands. I really wanted the larger screen and better camera. I will have to wait for the X now!

No issues with my Gold 256GB iPhone 8 purchased on launch day. It's built as well as any iPhone should be, haven't had any other problems with it.

On day 3 with my 8 Plus and no issues. I don't generally use speaker on phone calls anyway. No body cares to listen to my calls, even within my home. I typically use AirPods if I know I will be receiving a call or if making one; love not even having to remove the phone from my pocket...

FWIW, I had this happen to me last year with the 7 Plus and Mophie's Charge Force case/wireless charging base system. I ended up returning the Mophie for that reason. This year, I'm trying the new Mophie charging base and am hoping for an improvement.

And that's the beauty of having options. If it works for you that's all that matters. There really aren't any bad choices.

I've held off because I wanted to be sure I had enough time with the phone but my short time with the 8+ has been spectacular. No issues with crackling speaker, no gaps in glass, no clicking sounds and no issues putting it into front pockets :)

Like every other iPhone I've purchased before, this one is perfect. iOS 11.x not so much, but that's a different story. I wish the latest phones came with the last version of previous iOS shipped like they used to. Then we'd have the option to upgrade when a stable release was out. That's been the only drawback of the 8+ for me thus far, forced early adoption of 11.

dito. It's almost scary how perfect it is. I have an iPad Air 2 that I use a lot at home but after upgrading my iPhone 6 to the 8+ the iPad's performance is looking real bad in comparison. This iPhone is a well oiled machine.

My 8+ is perfect as well. I was thinking the same thing about my iPad Air. I need to get my Apple Watch 3 first but will most likely get an iPad Pro next year.

iPad Pro is AMAZING. I upgraded from Air 2 to the 10.5 Pro and it's been a wonderful experience. Similar to my iPhone Upgrade, the "compelling event" was giving a family member an upgraded iPad. My mother was still using an original iPad Mini that was just too long in the tooth. She got the Air 2 and is really enjoying the screen size. I'm sure she is enjoying the internal upgrades too, but doesn't completely realize that. It works out well for me I suppose. Getting updated iDevices and handing them down to family members who are overdue for upgrades.

I have a launch day 8 plus that I only activated a couple of days ago due to a internet outage at home. Upon activation I did notice the cracking speaker issue on phone calls. Other than that it’s a great phone.

My 8 plus seems perfect except for the small spec of dust under the camera lens which I wish I would of never noticed!!

8plus delivers in spades, not sure why are people so mad about it. Don’t like it? There is a galaxy line of phones.

That makes two of us.

I had a 6+. Went for the silver iPhone 8+ 256 gb.
Didn't feel like the jump from 6+ to 8+ (as far as experiencing iOS) was worth $1000.

The reason I chose the 8+ over the X initially was because all I wanted was A) a better camera and ability to shoot 4k video and B) more storage space (coming from a 16 gb 6+).

I realized the SE would give me both of these, but at a much lower cost, and as you've said, arguably the best design the iPhone ever had.

Not to say whoever got the 8+ shouldn't be happy with their purchasing decision of course... It's a great phone but I couldn't justify spending $1k for it.
