Not hearing it anymore either. YouTube must have tweaked something on the backend.

Anybody have this when making/taking calls? I get it 8/10 times using the phone normally or through Bluetooth or speaker... Had the phone 2 weeks. It's driving me and people I talk to nuts. Its really loud and annoying.

Also, it'll just end BT connections... Either in my car or to speakers/headphones...

Nothing wrong here on 11.1.1 on the 8 Plus. I’ve never experienced any crackle or pop issues regardless of version since owning the phone, however.

Have you tried Sky Guide or Sudoku ME? Audio on.. phone can’t be on mute.

I just played a couple of games on Sudoku ME and yes, I hear a little crackle at the end of the water drop sound. Very minor and not all the time. Interesting. I didn’t hear anything on Sky Guide or Sky View (similar apps).

Sky Guide takes longer to ‘kick in’ but bad when it does. That crackle actually damages the speaker and that’s per an Apple Lead Tech.

I updated my phone to the latest iOS software and pulled up a YouTube video and discovered the infamous crackling audio glitch on my phone — something I've never had an issue with until now, on iOS 11.1.2!

I looked and apparently the issue was "resolved" in iOS 11.0.2, but I never had an issue until just now. I also notice that it only seems to happen within some applications, namely YouTube. I don't hear any crackling audio on music files within the native iOS applications like movie files or anything of the sort. It seems to just be allocated within the YouTube app in my experience.

Has anyone else had this issue creep up again, and what did you do about it if so? I'm relieved it doesn't appear to be a hardware problem, but it makes using YouTube on my phone pretty much impossible.

I had this problem for a few days, i was going to take it to the Apple Store today, but i updated to 11.1.2 and all of a sudden it was fixed.

So here’s the thing. I’m playing a podcast through my phone now and I’m not hearing a thing. Everything is normal, great speakers and all... helping me get my dance on, lol.

Is 11.1.2 suppose to fix the issue? I’m on 11.1.1 now.

I just spent like 2 hours on the phone on my week old 8 plus that was just updated. I get the crackling kinda bad. I was using the speakerphone. It definitely wasn't there a few days ago.

Ok, so I’m still here jamming with my podcast and nothing. Side note: I forget how great the speakers are on this 8 Plus! Yeesss! I usually have my Bose headphones, speaker connected or its connected in the car.

Anyway, outside of Sudoku, so far, and really minimal at that - I had the volume up pretty high - I’ve never had any issue with this. Hoping it holds for now. I’ll keep the ears open for any changes.

This happens to me on pzizz, an app that’s intended to put people to sleep, so a loud random crackling now and then sure wakes you back up. I’m on a brand new iPhone 8 I only got on Friday and I’ve been meticulous in making sure it didn’t get damaged

For me, it was pretty much resolved on my 8 Plus with iOS 11.2.5. Haven’t really experienced it since in the last few months, maybe the odd time.
