Run into Macs4u's thread from an online article: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/iphone-8-plus-delivered-gap-between-glass-and-sides.2070456/ Went checkout my iPhone 8 Plus and found exactly the same issue as he described. On my phone there is an obvious gap on front and top-left also in the back. A small gap on front lower-right also in the back. Attached a few pictures that show the issue and the comparison of front top-right and front lower-left where the glass/frame seal looks good. It appears to me the cause of the gap is that the aluminum frame is not a perfect rectangular. You may not see much of a gap if viewing these pictures from a cellphone, but the gap is there. I can even cramp the frame to slightly narrow the gap. If I shine a light into the gap I can see the sealing material. No confidence on how waterproof this phone will be. My old iPhone 6 Plus has much better build quality, no gaps on glass and frame seal. It probably benefited from a unibody design instead of the new screen+frame+glass back design. Other then the gaps issue, absolutely like my new iphone.
