iPhone 8: Touch ID on back of phone (again)

Lol. Being on this forum so long reading the "apple would never put Touch ID on the back"

I remember reading "apple would never make a fingerprint scanner....too much of a risk"

"Apple would never make a 5.5 inch iPhone....everyone likes small phones"

"Apple would never make 2 different size iPhones "

Where’s the optimal place? Who determines what’s optimal? I don’t know about you but my index finger rests just under the Apple logo while I’m using my 7. I have to reach to use the home button where it is now.

The optimal place is on the face of the device. No one person determines that, it's any intelligent, reasoning human being that thinks about it.

Those have absolutely nothing to do with this. Because people assumed Apple wouldn't do those things that are not at all idiotic, we must conclude that Apple would do the stupidest thing ever and place Touch ID on the back? I think not.

No I'm not calling you anything. I'm saying you haven't thought about it clearly. I agree it's not the worst thing in the world on the back, but it's not the optimal place.

I think your tone insinuates that you know better than anyone here. Sometimes the optimal thing to do isn’t always possible. Time will tell.

No. Apple wouldn't make a phone with Touch ID on the back, let alone one with Touch ID on the back and one with Touch ID on the front in the same year. Couldn't be a worse business move.

Touch ID will be on the front in the home button on the 7s which looks virtually identical to the iPhone 7. Touch ID will be under the display of not exist on the OLED iPhone, and it's looking like it won't exist. If it doesn't exist then Apple decided that the infrared 3D facial detection was satisfactorily superior or equal in all ways that matter.

No recent photos of the back of the iPhone 8. Why? Because Touch ID is on the back of the iPhone 8!

Haha what? The back of the iPhone 8 is glass. There is no Touch ID on the back, and potentially no Touch ID at all. If there is Touch ID, it's on the bottom face of the device.
